Being that a low scoring game is my prediction, the Cats will probably put 37 on the board. As long as it's a win for the good guys, I could care less.
Didnt know you were a closet GRIZ.
Ummmmm, yeah, that's what I meant.

This game will be decided in either the first or third quarter- if the Cats score first our D will hold the griz through the half - unfortunately, the griz seem to have a better abilty to make adjustments at halftime so we need to be ready for a griz surge in the third - we hold them for the first one or two possessions of the 3rd - it's all over.

keys - Cats need to get ahead, prevent the griz from surging in 3Q

Score - Cats 24, griz 13

If we do win by 31 I will be flat out elated. I do think we have the firepower to do it but I'm not super confident that we will. Realistically I'm thinking it's one of those slug-it-out games where we end up with a 9 point, therefore 2 possession lead sometime in the 4th... and our D holds to ice the win. Final score... 27 to 18, THE MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY BOBCATS!!!

You heard it here first, and remember... I'm here all week.

That's very generous of you, considering Iowa beat us by 34. Are you admitting that you lack confidence that the Cats could win @ Iowa? ;)

Out of curiousity -- is there anyone you don't think the Cats could beat? What if they played Michigan; can you admit that the Wolverines would probably blow out the Cats at the Big House?

Wow, I just can't believe what I am reading. I have been a Cat fan for 26 years now and I can't believe that Cat fans have become this dumb. If you think we are going to beat the Griz by 31, think again. I would think by now that somebody would have said the most important thing, but no. It will all come down to one thing. FAKE PUNT/FAKE FIELD GOAL. That is right. It has been used by Hauck in every game that I have listened to or watched by the Griz this year. It has saved them in a few of the games. If Kramer has been in the is league this long and can't figure out that they will do this at some point in the game, and it will change the outcome of the game, then we need a new coach at the end of this season. I hope that Cats can go in there like they did when the won 10-7 or the way we played in Colorado. This is the biggest game of the year and hopefully we come out on top. You just have to remember that if we would have won in September, even with a loss against the Griz we would still be playoff bound. This game will all come down to special teams. GO CATS..

My two cents on the Cat/Griz game

Things in the cats favor!

I think the cats have the edge talent wise.

I do not believe the fiz will run much on us at all.

I think we will run modestly against them.

Things in the fiz favor!

They have better special teams than we do, in every category. The field position match is a huge advantage for them.

The refereeing in Missoula will favor the fiz no doubt about it.

They are very good at getting the early lead both in the first and third quarter by creating turnovers or big offensive plays.

Of coarse the crowd noise favors them. I was at the game in 2000. They were blaring music over the loud speaker when the cats were trying to snap the ball. I do not think that should be permitted. Crowd noise is one thing but artificial nose over the speaker system is another.

We cannot afford to get behind right off the bat. We cannot afford to loose the field position or time of possession battles by a huge margin. We must be able to run the ball at least modestly. Of coarse we cannot turn the ball over to much.

I am not worried at all about our front seven or our defense in general. The only way the fiz score is big plays or short fields caused by turnovers or bad special teams. However, I am a bit worried that we will put up much offense in fiz town against them.

We win this game if it is a ball control in the trenches type game. If it is a shootout, I see us coming up short.

I could just puke everytime I listen to the fiz on the radio. There announcers use the cheesiest cliché’s

“Score one for the good guys”

“Moving right to left on your radio dial”

“lined up on his right hip”

Please! it makes me want to hurl.

Love your crystal ball, have any stock picks for us?

The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

You can't compare games\scores... it never works. All I said is that we do have the talent to beat you by 31 if we finally clicked on all cylinders and caught the breaks. Of course it's a long-shot, but so was us beating Colorado... I never would have thought in 100 years we would have gone into the skydome at NAU a couple years ago and throttle them 60-7... but we did. I never would have thought Sam Houston State would have gotten rolling and throttled the Griz a couple years ago... but they did. Strange things can happen once a team gets rolling. I have huge respect for the Grizzly D... but there are areas where it's vulnerable - and I think UNC showed some of them. Kramer and Bailey will have the gameplan to put up points on your D, and our D will no doubt be ready to stop Swogger and co. Who will execute? Can't wait to find out... 8)

I know; I was just having some fun with you.

Seriously, though, I'd be shocked if either team won this game that convincingly, and I also know that if Griz fans were on here talking about a 31-point win over the Cats as if it were a semi-realistic possibility, Cat fans would let us have it with both barrels (the phrases "cocky," "arrogant," and "living in the past" would all be used).

Anyway...go Griz!!

I agree, there is no way we will beat the Griz by 31, that is an egriz post. Saturdays game will be a very low scoring game and "if' we come out on top it will be by 3 or less.

The Cats have the talent to be a big winner but they would have to play very loose and go for broke. This game is like playing Texas holdem, and the Cats have the short stack. When you have the short stack its very hard to get agressive for fear of losing more chips, advantage Griz.

However a quick score by the Cats could increase the odds considerably.

Win the toss, put the Griz on offense and smack Swogger with a 3 and out as well as a sack and the Cats offense will be fired up. First play, long sideline pass to Jefferson, 1st down on the Grizzly 8 yard line, Mason carries the mail into the end zone. Crowd starts booing Swooger and its all down hill from there for the Grizzlies. Kramer will be very conservative in his play calling.

Cats 17

Griz 10

I know I said 3 or less, but I was having so much fun I just had to change the score by the end of the post.

Have some fun guys, I not here nor is anyone else to get slammed by their own peers over something so fun.

I just believe Montana is better. A little better on Defense. A fair amount better on offense. Much better in the kicking game. Griz 31 cats 17.

Cats = 24 (up 1 td from earlier prediction because of passing attack)
griz = 17 (swogger struggles, but gets a score. berquist comes in for one)
