I agree. He did a good job and he is athletic enough to make a play if he has to. Last week was a debacle, but I still really like the roll punt. I like it because teams worry so much about and we never have to worry about any kind of return. And we also need to run a fake off of it.Gordo wrote:Force did a decent job (i.e. got enough elevation that the lineman didn't have to duck) with the roll punt. I vote to let Force finish out the year and get a 'real' punter for next year.

Yep, totally agree. The opponents never get a good run back on it at all. It might net about 5 yards less in the long run, but you don't have to worry about someone taking it to the house usually as they are concentrating solely on fielding it clean (which is VERY HARD TO DO). We will get our own plays off that I bet in some game where we get a fumble on one the other way I bet (kind of like that one in the Griz game last year .... oh wait .. that was the phantom reversal callCelticCat wrote:Personally I've always been a fan of the roll-out punt. This year it isn't going well, but we also have yet to have an opponent return a punt for a TD against us, something a lot of you seem to take for granted.
If we start booming punts (outkicking our coverage), it could be disastrous especially since our team hasn't preparted for that kind of coverage in 5 years.
