Finally, something that sounds a lot more reasonable.

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

I have plenty of talent and vision. I just don't give a damn.

I'm sure Kane is staying. I would like to see him be the defensive assistant.

Cristoff has always been with the linebackers...Kane I think is an assistant from what I have been told. Many say he is one of the best coaches on the staff and an excellent recruiter. I believe he will stay.

The short time I saw practice today, I think all the coaches were there that should be there. Whether or not some of their assignments may have changed I don't know.

I was at practice. Christoff there. I have been told that he hasn't quit, nor has anyone been fired. An inside source says there were disagreements. Kramer wants to change the D, Christoff didn't. Kramer to put in a new defense. Not sure what Christoff thinks but he was there today. I have been told the D players are frustrated. Time will tell no doubt. Is Christoff getting a fair chance? Are the D players getting a fair chance? Is it time to rock the boat? What does Kramer know about D...just asking as I am not sure?

I think Kramer did time as a D-coordinator at MSU back in the 80's, and again at Eastern under a great Big Sky defense coach, Dick Zornes.

Yes, the same Dick Zornes who once said something along the lines of "Playing Montana is like being a Butte hooker on Saturday night: you know you're getting screwed."

The quote doesn't pertain to Kramer, but its too memeorable (obviously) not to put in there.

Zornes also walked onto the field during pre-game in Missoula and told the officials something to the effect - "Go ahead and give me my two holding calls right now rather than screwing us with them in the 4th quarter"

This is off subject a little but does have to do with sports. I was subbing in a bookkeeper for a basketball tournament when one of the coaches came way way to far out on the floor. The official reporting the foul finished reporting to the bench and then turned to the coach and tells him he will recieve a technical for every step it takes to get back into the coach's box. The coach scratched his head for a second and then called over the assistant coach and a player and threw an arm over a shoulder of each and they packed him off. I thought the official was going to pee his pants, the other official was very confused and came over to ask what was going on. There was probablly a 3 minute break in the action because they all were getting such a chuckle. The fans were all confused, and it was a huge crowd because it was a state semi-final boys basketball tournament.

The Griz loved playing his teams, because he already decided they were going to lose... and his teams played like it.

I certainly hope we are going back to a 4-3 defense. I too, hate a 3-4 in most circumstances. I'm confident Kramer can do a quick fix on defence, but we still have some major problems with our offensive scheme. No defense, at any level, can play the minutes our defense played last Saturday, and continue to be effective. We have to be able to run the ball, in order to open up the passing game (especially this year), and we have got to put pressure on their QB. Their QB needs to be scared to death on every play. GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more with that. The D played decent against UC Davis considering the field position the Aggies had, not to mention the D spent about 80% of the game on the field. I do think some changes are in order, but i think fixing the offense will in turn fix the defense. And I don't think we are very far off on either.

Switching back to the 4-3 may hurt the Cats for the next couple weeks but in the end will most likely help them. The biggest switch is going to happen on the d line, namely at the NT NG positions and the techniques they have to use due to the fact that they'll be lining up in different gaps. Although I don't like the idea of overhauling the defense mid season, most NFL teams have a hard time overhauling their defenses from one season to the next, let alone in one season (i.e. Ravens last year, back to their usual base d this year and they are dominating)

What surprises me is that Kramer at the end of last season said that they would be going back to the 4-3 defense. Then Kramer replaces Coach K with Cristoff who was the person that convinced Kramer and Coach K to run the 3-4. Kramer knew full well that Cristoff would run the 3-4 when he made him the defensive coordinator… What really surprises me though is if any of this is true (that Kramer is running the defense and Cristoff is now an assistant) then I would imagine this could be a very long season. This is NOT a message that you want sent to your players and coaches. How can you play for a coach that you are not even sure you can trust? This is a huge gamble that very well may not payoff.

Letting a defense that gives up 45 points go on as planned may not work so well either. That may send the message to alumni and a certain group of internet posters that the head coach is unwilling to make the changes they see as vital to the team's performance.
