We need another Prukop, that man would have killed it in this offense.
Oh man... can you imagine that? A gamer like him, the ability to sling it, run it, and with a proper defense?! Good night Irene to the rest of the FCS if that were the case.

You could argue we are in the exact same situation that we were coming off the Denarius era. All-time QB graduates and we go into spring ball with a backup in Jake Bleskin, raw but intriguing backup in Dakota Prukop, and another tough competitor in Quinn McQueary. Same situation is happening this spring with Reed comparing to Bleskin, Wilson to Prukop, and Duchien to McQueary. Also, Wilson and Dakota have eerily similar journeys to MSU as well as their skillset.

I'm still 99.99% sure we bring in a transfer to compete.

In comparison to you Vim I have 0.01% knowledge about the game in general and the inside state of the roster while you have the 99.99% but I honestly think that with River Warren also on the roster the coaches won't be looking desperately hard and will only bring someone in that's an absolute can't pass up QB transfer that presents himself. Now if one of our guys currently on the roster enters the portal (and I could see that happening) then that would change everything IMHO.

Im super intrigued by the incoming freshman Warren. I watched his highlights and was able to find a couple of full game films online. This kid is the real deal. He is a very good passer and an efficient runner. Based on everything I read he played a very high level of high school football. I think this kid might be our next QB. Another thing I love is he turned Colorado state and Toledo down on signing day. I guess they made a late push to flip him but he didn’t budge which means he truly wants to be here.

Is River Warren currently enrolled and practicing with the team?

Dakota Prukop, to this day, had the best highlight/scout tape I've ever seen. Just the production alone was outstanding, but it really showed and spelled out his abilities. Maybe it's just that tape but I don't see Wilson being like Prukop at this point.

Prukop was a stud, but he was IMO impatient. I felt he decided to keep the ball too early and often pulled the trigger or decided where he was going on passes too soon. So, while a lot of people think he'd be perfect for this offense, I have to politely disagree. Perhaps in this offense Prukop would become more patient. I think Wilson showed maybe a bit too much patience in his mop up duties this year. I was told that the coaches wanted him to keep the ball more when he was out there. When he did, you could see a lot of ability. He is the most intriguing player on the roster to me.

I'm reluctant to think Warren is going to blow everyone away. Simply because it just doesn't happen often that a true frosh does that. Lulay and Murray are the only QBs I can think of that started at MSU as a true frosh and that wasn't until about the 4th/5th game of the year for Lulay as I recall. Seems like it was about the same for Murray.

Going into spring with a wide-open mind on this QB situation.
