Their unwillingness to call obvious holding was horrible.
Outside of that, they called the game great.
Also my takeaway.
Agreed. The holding calls were really frustrating. We’ve seen that all year with Brody getting held, but there were at least 1 or 2 that were REALLY bad.
But outside of that, I didn’t have much, if any, complaint. They let them play and it seemed to be fairly even.

I liked that they were consistent in their no calls. They swallowed the whistle all game.

This. They were even and consistent. If you can count on it, you can work with it.

Refs did a good job. Both sides had equal gripes.

A great indicator of a fairly officiated game.

I was just glad the refs didn’t insert themselves into the game. Just lightly moderated it from afar

That’s where I’m at, too.
Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings
What a ride

Totally agree. We’ve definitely seen games where the officials call every single little thing and completely take the game over. They definitely missed some blatant holding calls on both sides, but I’d prefer that over a flag on every play.

I still don't agree with overturning the fumble. While I agree that the elbow was down, I don't think they would have blown it dead and had he not fumbled, I think he gets several more yards. The guy was incredible.

I don’t get it. Once his elbow is down, he’s down. They had to overturn it.

I agree. I just think that they missed several knees down and would have given him the extra yards had he not fumbled. I'm just being picky.

They did a really good job of being consistent on both sides.
They did an incredibly sh’tty job of reffing the game.
Hahaha
I mean….. some of the worst no-calls (both ways) that I have ever seen in bobcat stadium. Just laughable.

I thought it looked like the ball might have been moving before the elbow hit. I could be wrong.

Did anyone see McCade O'Reilly get yanked down by the collar from behind when he was in the backfield to spring a long run? It was so blatent I couldn't believe they didn't call it.
Yes, I think that was Theis.
The no call when R. Jones was held with a horse collar, no less, while trying to run his route was inexcusable.

I think I remember @Colter_Nuanez saying at some point they had hundreds of photos of Brody getting held. It would be fun if they created a montage of these photos to songs about holding.

I saw both teams continuing to escalate the egregious fouls and testing the limits as the game progressed. If anyone thinks the Cats weren't holding at a criminal level on both sides of the ball, then you simply have blinders on. One play Eiden pulled the SD OT from behind to allow Brode a clean shot at the QB. The SD OT's head almost exploded when yelling at the refs.
Strange the refs did this, but both teams were treated equally.

The refs missed several critical holding calls against USD on our DLine. I wouldn't say it was fairly called across the board, even though they did "let them play". Theis also fumbled technically on that one run & they took 6 pts away from us, even though that was a very close call.

While I think their holds were a little more egregious, we did a lot of holding as the game went along and the OL saw how they were calling it.
Overturning the fumble was the right call, elbow was down with firm control.

Maybe a wild thought here, but if the refs are not calling anything, I’f expect it to continue. Seems it’s been that way all playoffs. Sucks because NDSU players are experts are holding and getting away with it.
