If UNH comes back, Cats run all over them. Up middle could be tough vs UTM, but seem susceptible on edge, UNH qb can't run. UTM dbs seem pretty good.
I think we will run fine against either team. They are all too slow. UTM’s dbs are decent, however, UNH is bad today. UNC, Cal Poly, heck even Sac State make a better showing.

At half UTM has 343 yds, UNH 9. If anyone wondered how far the CAA has fallen, that's the answer.

Looking at stats, UTM has been stout against the run all year. A few teams have passed well against them, but no one put up big rush yards against them…other than Kansas state.

If Tommy is willing to pull the ball and run or run when the pocket breaks down, he might have a career day.

However, they have not really played any rush heavy teams either. Maybe Kennesaw, and they are really really bad, even in the FCS, I don’t think their record changes much.

They’re good against the run. Just like UCD and UM, so the Bobcats are going to have to rely on other facets to win this game comfortably. MSU had great D and special teams the last two games, except the final ten minutes vs UC Davis.

I’m pretty skeptical of any good statistical rush defense that isn’t from the BSC or MVFC

Same here. If some 4-loss team from the Big South/OVC has a great run defense, they wouldn’t be playing in the first round on the road.

This narrative that the Gris played amazing on defense against MSU is odd, too.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

What a ride

I'm skeptical too, so I watched the game and they're good against the run. I don't think they'll end up with their average allowed per game (88), but they're capable of holding MSU around 150-200. Do that and MSU will need to play well in other areas.

Amazing? Not sure I heard that narrative, but they did play good Run D until Jones broke that huge run. I wouldn't grade their pass D since MSU just didn't throw the ball much.

They haven’t played a team within the top 50 for rushing offense. Maybe, just how people thought our schedule was weak, I think their rushing defense is inflated with stats against poor rushing teams. They can prove me otherwise, but watching that game, their d-front is big and slow and basically create a quagmire at the LOS. Cats will be able to leverage them, and get their yards.

Kennesaw state is buried in the FBS as a rushing team, use to be their bread and butter, Kansas in probably at around 15-18. Funny what I did discovered UNM is 5 in rushing in FBS, yes they pass a lot more at that level, still impressive, especially because it was their QB getting most their yards.

Right? Cats had over 300 against the the Gris, and they only had to defend against one back for the majority of the game.

I would remain skeptical. It’s possible they’re good. It’s possible that they just appeared good against some CAA chumps.

Overall we kept the offense pretty simple against Missoula

Boy, if any CAA fans want to bitch about not getting respect, watch your teams today and then watch the teams west of the Mississippi next week. It's not even remotely close. I watched both Richmond and Villanova today. I don't think either one beats eastern or nau. Strong Portland state vibes. And they both finished ahead of new Hampshire. Yeah.
Tn Martin has good size up front, not as big as Davis but good size. I don't think they have the players at the second and third level to contain the edge like Davis did against us. I think the game maybe starts slow but we pull away in the 3rd. End up winning by 4 scores.

Pretty weak showing by CAA and NAU today. If UM loses, it’s a bad day for BSC too.

Exactly Bill and Mary were supposed to have a great defense 2 years ago and the final was 55-7

That was a cold night. Took awhile to get going but once it started it really snowballed. I don’t think WM was as bad as that score. Reminded me of our last two games against UM in Missoula.

This will be huge test for our offense and showing the FCS that we’re deserved that #1 spot.
