Re: All Things Bobcat Collective
One way to help the collective is to attend one of its events this summer.
For the last two summers the Billings area has been having a BBQ event. Last year we raised about $30,000 for the collective.
Most of that money went to the Billings area players and other players from Eastern Montana and Northern Wyoming.
This years event will be July 16th. Mark your calendars and look for information later this spring on the event. We need all the
participation we can get so that we can continue to raise money for the NIL. Our Goal this year is $50,000.00
I know the collective will have other events around the state this summer. Please support them.

Re: All Things Bobcat Collective
Great point. I donate to the collective every month but I have no idea how the money is being spent. I probably don't need to know every detail, but, currently, I don't know anything other than I'm sending in money. There isn't much transparency in how this all works.catzz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:29 pmFirst, THANK YOU to Brandon Vancleeve and the crew for getting the Collective going and for all the thankless work you've done!
I believe it's time for some open transparency if we truly want to move forward, assuming it's possible. Where do we currently stand financially? How far are we behind NDSU and other top FCS programs, as well as lower-tier FBS schools that we should be competing with?
How and where is the money being distributed? Who makes the decisions on the allocation of funds? Do coaches have a say in this process? Can they request support if a player receives an offer from another school? Are we engaging with coaches about retaining players who are being pursued by other programs? I understand that NDSU is proactive in this regard, and it seems like the Griz might be doing the same with a player or two (Gillman? and definitely Bergen last year).
I need more direct information to decide on joining. Would it be more beneficial for me to redirect or reduce my other donations to MSU/Bobcats/Athletics and contribute to the Collective instead?
It's time for me to either step up or or completely hold back with the current WILD WEST of the NIL in college football..
All I know is this week has sucked for more reasons than one.... Was any of this preventable with even a slightly greater NIL landscape for Bobcat Football? Or is this a lost cause until the Gold Rush is over or regulated?

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Welp, I guess we made a good run at the NIL... Pretty amazed I received nearly zero feedback to my questions. This is fairly frustrating as we are definitely legging if we want to keep up with the Dakotas, and I suppose the Griz in this portion of recruiting and retaining.AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 4:05 pmGreat point. This may be our best bet in reaching to anyone involved. They probably pop on here once or twice a year.

Maybe you should use their contact information to ask questions instead of a message board that the people who have answers may or may not read.catzz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 8:58 pmWelp, I guess we made a good run at the NIL... If we want to get serious about contending with NIL I feel we should all be the in know, especially the biggest fans, here!
And this is perfect place to discuss it.
If I’m out of line about bringing up this topic call me out. I guess I’ll quit pushing it. My priority point number is just under 100, so I get I’m not a top dog! Yet..
We are getting our ass kicked when it comes to the NIL and nobody wants to discuss it…..
From what I hear, that Missoula school is double if not triple ours… NDSU 10-12x ours!? Is it true that their oline players make more than our best player?
I’m pretty sure we could have kept a handful of players, that would have solidly contributed next year, if we had any amount of money left over..
But on to the next developing player!

Re: All Things Bobcat Collective
My apologies, from reading your post I took it that you were disappointed to not receive a reply to your questions in this thread. I think it's entirely appropriate to ask those questions although I'm not sure if a message board would be the best place for that discussion to take place. I also wonder if the recent fundraising asks for facility improvements on the BAC and practice facility back-to-back have hurt the NIL donations somewhat. Even donors with relatively deep pockets can only do so much...catzz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:11 pmI completely agree! And I have…

Re: All Things Bobcat Collective
Thanks MSU1 for the response.. This board is filled with eager fans, and fans with lots of questions and disappointment lately. I think this should be discussed lively amongst us. This topic is holding us back as Bobcats fans whether a few of the heavy posters on here want to admit it or not..MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:26 pmMy apologies, from reading your post I took it that you were disappointed to not receive a reply to your questions in this thread. @Hawks86 Have you heard differently?

Care to discuss a fairly large component to college football these day? And how we as fans of the Bobcats are greatly lagging behind the football team we are trying to resemble, NDSU? Have you heard their NIL amount? Am I off?
Guess I am the only one interested in talking about this taboo…

No, I haven't heard or seen any public numbers. I'm sure NDSU has more. um probably not. I'm not going to get all pissed off about numbers that aren't available. You go ahead and do you.catzz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 10:15 pm@Hawks86 Have you heard differently?![]()

Re: All Things Bobcat Collective
Don't think this is through the collective but it's along similar lines so I'll ask here. I remember seeing a site that listed all the student athletes and ways to work with them directly on NIL deals for appearances and what not, but I can't seem to find it again. It doesn't look like it was through the Collective as I can't find anything like it on their site. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

There is a spot on the MSU Athletics website called the Bobcat Exchange. https://app.inflcr.com/exchange/montan ... university110010110 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 6:23 pmDon't think this is through the collective but it's along similar lines so I'll ask here.
