Against lesser competition, the final score will in no way reflect the superiority of the Cats. Vigen expressed regret over the last touchdown against ISU in his presser yesterday. His goal is getting the W, getting out healthy, and building experienced depth. So against UNC, the 1's will play most of the first half, rotating heavy in the 2nd quarter. Second half will see mostly 2's and 3's.

Score after first half
Cats 35
Bears 0

Final score
Cats 49
Bears 10

Edit: just looked at the spread 38.5. maybe I'll be right for once

I don't make score predictions, but it will all depend on which UNC team shows up. Yes, UNC is 0-5. If UNC has already given up on the season, then it will be a blow out, but if UNC wants to fight for some dignity, then it will be a two to three touchdown victory for the Cats. I expect UNC to fight like they did against ACU, and to a lesser extent CSU, and throw every trick (except flying clipboards) in the book they have to make it close.

First defense pitches a shutout. Northern Colorado gets a couple of garbage points in second half. This will be Tommy's best passing day as they continue to work on the passing game.

Cats 55
Bears 10

Every college football player dreamed of playing in a wild atmosphere, sold out stadium, etc. If you're at UNCU, you get maybe two games a year that make you feel like a legit college football player. I know we all know this, but it's a really big deal. My seats are on the west side of the stadium not far from where the visitors come out. These guys are jacked about the environment they're playing in. I do think teams give up on seasons like you said, and maybe UNCU has done that, but this will be a little shot of life for them. The teams that really scare me are the ones that are full of guys who think they're 5 star recruits but don't usually play hard because they're being undervalued. Portland State has a lot of guys like that, and Sac St used to in my opinion. These guys finally feel like they're getting their shot to play in the big time, and they ball out. But you just have to punch them in the mouth early and they get back to not caring haha.

I've been looking into Northern Colorado football, and man it's sad how bad they have been since they moved up to FCS in 2006. 34 total wins, have never made the FCS playoffs, haven't won a game since 2022, and have lost 11 straight to us for a total record vs us of 1-11.

They used to be pretty nasty at the D2 level in the 90s, winning 2 national championships and many conference championships. But damn, they fell off hard when they moved up to FCS and the Big Sky

Well, as I recall their fist Big Sky win was against us.

According to @Colter_Nuanez , Northern Colorado has never had a winning session against D1 opponents since they moved up. Woof.

I'm going to point to Northern Colorado as a prime example of just because you were good at a lower level does not mean it translates to a higher level for all the fans pounding their chest that we should move up. The grass is not always greener

A valid point. But the Cats are in a much different situation than UNCU was when they moved up.

It still is if the grass you're currently on keeps dying out year after year while you just sit there watching it happen.

That may force the Cats to keep the ball on the ground...which means it could be an even bigger blowout.

I hate making predictions, but I will say Bobby is itching for a shut out. Certainly possible today.
