I'm sure he would love all of the run blocking he'd get to do at Cal Poly!
Darrel Jones had 63 receptions and 1118 yards with 6 TDs in 2004. Ramses Barden caught 40 balls for over 600 yards and 9 TDs this year. If he came to Poly he would get plenty of balls thrown his way and he wouldn't freeze his b@lls off doing it. His family and friends could watch him play.

Will he ever consider Poly? Probably not, but I can dream.
So I take it both of those guys graduated?
Darrel Jones graduated last year and Ramses Barden was a Redshirt freshman this year and has three years remaining. He is 6'6" 225 lbs. Look to see him on Sundays in four years. W. Lewis and Barden would make a hell of a WR tandem.

Did I mention that he would only be a 2 1/2 hour drive from home?
So you're saying he'd get to run block 80% of the time and then get a few bombs thrown his way?

It seems he'd be NFL ready in no time.

He would make a great down field blocker for James Noble. We would throw him a bone now and then if he did a good job blocking. :D

BTW did the Bobcats give up trying to beat Cal Poly? From what I have seen, we are not on your schedule in 2006. If so, I hope it is only for one year. Montana State has a great program and I was planning on going to Bozeman this year to see the game. Hopefully it will pick up again in 2007.

Hey, we always manage to have one of our ugliest, sickening, gag-inducing games every year when we play you guys... wether our QB personally spots you two TDs, or our punt coverage sees some phantom fair catch sign that never was, basically standing there watching your guy return it for a score... after awhile that kind of crap can't be discounted as coincidence.

Cal Poly has some voodoo against us and we need about a 10 year break or so, just to let it die down a bit.

We're replacing our quarterback and reciever corps next year, so I don't think seeing Cal Poly's excellent defense is a good idea. Maybe the series can be revived in 2007 here in Bozeman and in San Luis Obispo in 2008.

GO CATS!

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Cal-Poly program and think you have been robbed by the NCAA selection committee in the past.

I'm all in favor of replacing any future trip to SLO with a home game against, say, Ft. Lewis College. :D

This said, I don't think one of the best WRs in the nation coming out of HS wants to go play at a school where a game with more than 15 passing attempts by the Mustangs is considered above the norm.

Big reason not to play Cal Poly is their defense is so different, it's hard to prepare for in one week, then undo the prep for the next game. Being a Flex defense I believe.

It's an advantage to them (which is great) but it doesn't do anything for future games for their oppoents.

I don't see Cal Poly being readded to the schedule for a good time with the BSC adding one more game to everyone's schedule starting this coming year.

Going back to the math (previous post), you have 8 BSC games now (4 and 4) and 1 Div-IA money game (away). That leaves only 2 other game openings on a 11 game (Div I-AA maximum) schedule. It doesn't make sense to use one of those games on a home and away series with Cal Poly and their Flex defense.

You want the last two games to be both home games. Most of the time.

So this coming year we go to Colorado and play 8 BSC games. The question is what will be the last two (and for sure one will not be Cal Poly for a LONG time), at least until Div-IAA goes to 12 games or BSC drops back to 6 or 7 games (with Montana going IA or two additional teams added to the BSC and the conference goes to two divisions and reduced conference games played).

Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate.

I hate to see us not on Montana States schedule this year and hope it is only for one year. MSU is always at or near the top of the Big Sky and is almost always a top 25 team. Although last years game was not an great game, there have been a lot of real good games between the two schools. I am from the school that says to be the best you have to beat the best, and MSU is one of the best. I hope to see you on the schedule again in 2007.

If I were a cal poly fan, I'd hate to see MSU not on the schedule as well. That's one less win that CP can pencil in.

BTW: Congrat's on a great season, and I have to say that I loved watching you guys pound the pathetic griz. Here's to watching the same next year!

Not there yet.

Great job against Texas St. I thought SLO was going to pull the upset. Texas St. was a lot better than I gave them credit for.

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

I just looked at the USC depth chart for the Rose Bowl. Lewis (sophmore)is listed third on the chart at Split End - behind Jarrett (Sophmore) and a Freshman.

Thus, he may be interested in transferring to get playing time. Let's hope that if it is true, then MSU is his destination.
