i saw that ja'ron had 11 3pt attempts! i dont care who you are, thats a lot! anyone have any info on diss not starting? mick could be mixing things up, but if i was a betting man i'd say he's sick or something. he didn't look good the other night, and barely played. still had 20 plus minutes tonight but something's not right.

Usually I'm not one to complain abot officals but after listening to that whole game it sounded as if it was rigged...
Maybe not that bad but I haven't seen MSU get screwed that bad in a while.
Durr had a good game on Thurs - but who did he start for? Morris played some quality minutes against DU as well...
I like Miller running the point so hopefully he can get everything figured out before bigsky play.

espn boxscore said that diss didn't start. bue we all know how accurate those things are, especially with smaller 1-a schools so i could easily be wrong. also, i didn't listen to much of the game so i apologize if my info was incorrect.CatGrad00 wrote:I heard he started at the four spot ... no, i was right...diss didn't start. and he wasn't sick or anything. mick is just mixing things up a little. i'm sure he's trying out durr but i dont think he'll be there in a few weeks. i'd like to see diss back in there myselfwhitetrashgriz wrote:espn boxscore said that diss didn't start. bue we all know how accurate those things are, especially with smaller 1-a schools so i could easily be wrong. also, i didn't listen to much of the game so i apologize if my info was incorrect.CatGrad00 wrote:I heard he started at the four spot ... Yeah, what the heck is Durham thinking by not starting Dissly? Nick is a quality basketball player... I doubt Mick would just do it to mix things up, but I've been wrong before! Mick's been wrong before too, so I guess we all learn from our mistakes, right?!i'd like to see diss back in there myself
Who knows!!

well, i dont know what micks reasoning was, but i do know that diss wasn't sick, he wasn't hurt, he didn't start, and from the sounds of it, may not be the happiest about it. so, whatever the reason was, it didn't have to do with dissly, other than maybe mick wanted to try some different things out. who knows?MSUCATS wrote:Yeah, what the heck is Durham thinking by not starting Dissly? Maybe it will light a fire under is a$$. Dissly is probably the least improved player that I can ever remember in the Big Sky. He was great as a freshman, average last year, and thus far this year seem to invisible.whitetrashgriz wrote:well, i dont know what micks reasoning was, but i do know that diss wasn't sick, he wasn't hurt, he didn't start, and from the sounds of it, may not be the happiest about it. so, whatever the reason was, it didn't have to do with dissly, other than maybe mick wanted to try some different things out. who knows?MSUCATS wrote:Yeah, what the heck is Durham thinking by not starting Dissly? I remember an article in the chronicle last year talking about how he really hasn't had to work at bball much because he's such a great natural athlete, and that he was really going to put in a lot of work this summer to get better.....well, so far it doesn't look like that is the case.
Here's the article for those who didn't see it: http://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/ar ... eature.txt

... It's not that Nick hasn't improved...
The season is just starting WBTFG!! In my own opinion, I think that maybe Mick is giving Dissly a little pine time to serve as a wake up call that Dissly has to earn his starting spot on the team.
I think Dissly has the talent, and the potential to be even better than he already is, and I know he's a heck of a lot better than a lot of the guys he plays against.

Technically, Durr did not start for Dissly. Durr started at the power forward (4) for Moss, who started for Bye. Durham played the 3 for Dissly.whitetrashgriz wrote:whitetrashgriz wrote:CatGrad00 wrote:CATS2000 wrote:no, i was right...diss didn't start. and he wasn't sick or anything. mick is just mixing things up a little. i'm sure he's trying out durr but i dont think he'll be there in a few weeks. i'd like to see diss back in there myself

you thought that that was the cats playing well? boy, you could be in for a great season. they played better the game we lost, and the game we won they looked horrible. and northern colorado is real bad! i know the players aren't happy with how they played. i doubt the coaches are real impressed. and the majority of the fans know they can, and will play a lot better in the future. and while it may not have been a "mistake" that mick went with the line up he did against denver, i promise that wont be the starting lineup come conference.CatGrad00 wrote:Mistakes? The starting lineup should consist of the players that provide the best success...........as a team......Nick Dissly is surely a part of that. He just needs to step up in the leadership role and be more vocal. He is a great player, athlete and person. He needs to take over the leadership of this team as Jason Erickson did (even tho he is just a junior).....the other players are simply not the "leadership" type of personalities.MSUCATS wrote:I second that!i promise that wont be the starting lineup come conference.
