It should please his mother...she hated every minute he was playing football. His dad is a great guy who was behind him all the way. with that kind of family stress it's no wonder the kid heard footsteps. They probably belonged to his mother! Well it's not like they needed the money...they got some big bucks!thuss wrote:It has been confirmed from a VERY reliable source that Roosevelt has had his scholarship pulled. He wasn't that good anyway. I will admit he was very fast, but as a reciever you MUST catch the ball. Also I think he had some chip on his shoulder, thats the word.

RedShirting is known at the end of the year. Someone can compete for a job whether they think he might redshirt or not.MM7CAT wrote:I heard from a VERY reliable source that Desin will not redshirt this year and they will give him the opportunity to compete for the QB position but ultimately would like to see him at slot receiver. We'll see.
Redshirt is you have not played. At anytime during the year you can lose your redshirt. first game or last. You can plan not to redshirt, but just never play and at the end you say hey, I'll be a redshirt.

That is a coaches decision. Ideally every freshman is redshirted. If they're good now give them a year to get bigger and faster and they'll help that much more later. However, sometimes depth is a problem due to injuries or whatever or a kid is just so outstanding the coaches have no choice but to play them as true freshman. I can't figure out why we or anyone would burn a kid's redshirt year just to play them on special teams, we've got other athletes we can use. I know we did it this last year but we didn't have to. In 4 years we'll be wishing we had Gazzerro and Taito back for one more year.BobcatLionFan wrote:Redshirt is you have not played. Linebackers and running backs tend to be the one group that does not redshirt very often in a Div-IAA program. Simple reason is kick off and punt coverage. You need fast hunters/killers going down the field and you don't want to use your starters (due to chance of injury). Coaches make a choice of burning a year or having slower coverage. Their thought is we can replace them in 4 years, we need to win now. Can't go against them wanting to win now (not leave good players for an extra year for the next head coach).PDXKat wrote:That is a coaches decision. Ideally every freshman is redshirted.
