[quote="Helcat72"]We won with just Travis passing through the middle of the season, but lately teams have schemed to take his effectiveness away by playing zone with up to 6 DB's. The coaches now have to figure out how to attack that kind of defense...if they don't Travis will have another tough day trying to move the ball.

If they play us with 6 DB's, hand the ball off to Papich. The other 10 players just push him ahead 20 yards. We should score every 4 plays I figure.

If I was Lulay and saw 6 DB's I would send every one deep then take off and run. I figure I could score in 5 plays.

Last time I noticed the Griz have a pretty decent D-line and inside backers...I don't think we'll be able to get deep with any regularity, and as far a Lulay running there will be spies, probably Tyler Joyce and or Utterbach. we need to suck the DB's up into the box and then hit them deep.

Expect to see LBs drop into coverage and the Free Saftey spy the QB as well. If Travis didn't like getting "the hit" from the EWU players he won't want to scramble when Van Cooper Jr is on the field.

Yeah, I'm sure Travis is having trouble sleeping this week, thinking about Van Cooper Jr and his awesome 2.7 tackles/game and 2 tackles for loss this season (for -2 yards, no less)....

Shake it off, TL, shake it off....!

I'll take Lulay after the hit vs Bergquist after Leblanc lays a bomb on him :-#

MSU stopped the #3 RB in the BSC last Sat.(to 59 yrds.) as well as holding Meyer to a headache(only 200 yards). UM fans seem to think that Lex H. is the second coming but he is the #2 RB in the BSC and if the MSU D can contain him, that will mean Cole. B. will have to make plays. The only thing I don't know is how banged up MSU is...

I'm not too worried about our defense-they played well enough to beat EWU-even though they didn't make some plays they should have. It was our offense and special teams. We were constantly playing from bad field position because of fumbles and penalties and our offense was going 3 and out or fumbling the snap or throwing an interception for a touchdown. I'm still amazed how we got snowballed in the late 2nd and 3rd quarters.

We kind of did the same thing against NAU, but fortunately had a 22 point cushion. We had countless special teams blunders, fumbles, and 3 and outs-thus making our defense tired (I do question their conditioning sometimes).

The Cats have to play blunder free on Saturday to win. Something we haven't done all year-so maybe we're due? [-o<

Obzerver...MSU "sellout" of the week?

Lex is a better back than Cole and the Griz O line is better than EWUs, I believe it poses a totally different challenge to MSU this week.

True enough. As that is true, our defense is going to put Lexington in their sights like EWU did. We can contain the damage he will do. For the Griz to have a chance the recievers will have to have a breakout game. I don't think they are going to have the game they need to have to counter our RED HEADED wonder-- going out in a blaze of glory by 2 TD's.

Seems to me O line can't score, special teams do most of it.

So what if Obzever is? His team needs us to win to get them any shot at the playoffs.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I would rather have to contain Lex and Cole versus Meyer and Cole any day of the week. Questions, which offense has been averaging 500+ yards for the season? I think it isn't the Griz. I like the matchups this week now that our D is healthy. Our offense just needs to show along with the special teams and the Cats win this one.

I hope it will be a good close game as I see it to close to call. I can finally watch it on TV this weekend. Good Luck, Go Griz.

IF the Cats don't "shoot themselves in the foot" with turnovers or yielding big special teams plays, the WORST case scenario is a close game.

I think we can all agree that this Griz team can't dominate anyone without a # of big plays on D/Special Teams.

Previous Griz teams could blow you out with just their offense; that's not the case with this squad; any team that limits their own mistakes will have a shot at beating them, starting with the Bobcats.

Most rushing TDs can/should be credited to the Oline and their blocking.

That's a pancake, not tackling. :)
