Ok that's fair with regard to their game against us, but their wins last year @ GSU and Rutgers were still impressive, and this year they do appear to be for real (although it is early and anything could happen). This year they have beaten a good UC Davis team on the road, and their other three games have all been huge blowouts over I-AA teams (granted, one was Dartmouth...another was Towson, who I would normally snicker at, but Towson did beat Delaware this weekend).CARDIAC_CATS wrote: If New Hampshire might have had their stud WR I would maybe agree with you. W/O him all they could do was run the ball and be very vanilla. They were not a very good team at the end of the year (especially w/o that WR). Average defense (1-2 great players but that was it) and a wounded offense. But hey, I wouldn't have been complaining either if the Cats played them and they lost their stud WR as well too.

This conversation probably could go on forever with regards to whether the Big Sky is just tough or weak when compared with the rest of the nation.
The reason I asked for Matt's input is that he makes his living evaluating I-AA and gets to watch a lot more games in the Easterrn part of the US. I thought he would have a decent perspective as to the athleticism of teams here vs there.
One thing I liked in the past from the Griz schedule was playing Maine and/or Hofstra in the preseason games. I always wished the Cats would do the same. Can it really cost that much more to travel to play an A-10 team vs going to California and playing Cal Poly?
By the way, I guess I"m one of those guys who just keeps hitting his head against the wall because I like the fact that we play Cal Poly.
