So how would the Griz fair against a 1-A team when they have barely beat SDSU and Weber at home?jagur1 wrote:E I'll be sure to congrat the cat fans when they win another NAIA title after they have to join the Frontier Conf. after the U moves up to 1-A.

bad news...well sorta
For the record, I am a great Cat fan, I am not from WEBER but as a Cat Fan I appreciate what CC has brought to Helena and MT...and when kids choose to go to CC for a chance to win play and a chance at a NC....I think its awesome....Cat fans, you make yourselves look stupid when you for one second look down at CC...thats all I am saying...Again, I am a CAT fan and my husband most likely the biggest Cat Fan Helena has ever seen...so be carefuly when you question my loyality..

Utahcat and other Cat fans... nobody is looking down on Carroll's Fighting Saints. I know I see Carroll as a terrific program and one of the better academic institutions around. I hope they continue their great run and make Montana proud! But... there is not any reason to compare them to MSU or UM... there is no comparison. NAIA is just not near the level of play, physically or depth wise to compete with Division 1-AA. Especially with the better 1-AA teams such as MSU. The few teams that have gone up against BSC shcools have been bounced pretty badly. So leave it as it is... and wish Carroll the best in NAIA and MSU the best in the BSC.

utahcat, no one on here was looking down on CC for being a good NAIA program. I think the questions raised were, if a kid is getting looked at by low level 1-A and upper level 1-AA schools why would he not explore those options. Several posters made the correct assumption that education and a better fit for him were a great reason. But I think it is justified on a board to question why he would not look for a higher level.

good news....sorta
My point is, why wouldn't a kid want to play,,,and start probably (versus sit the bench) for a potential national champion? no matter what level...that is my point said in a round about way -- I Love (adore) the Cats, hope he goes there, god forbid he drives by Bozeman to get to MSLA!!

Utahcat,
Some may see it the way you do. But, there is anothe side. Some athletes want to challenge their skills against the best. That's why the Leaf kid went to Oregon where he is not starting instead of maybe one of our universities in state; they want that challenge to elevate their game.
I think another point here to know is that those that were saying that Selle wouldn't go to Carroll may simply think they know differently. I may be wrong, but I do not remember any derogatory remarks from anyone saying why would he want to go there; I think you've read into something that wasn't said.
