I think there needs to be a Sticky Thread/poll here entitled "Big Sky refs: do they suck, blow, or both at the same time?" It would surely get several thousand replies before the end of this season! :D
The team as a whole is currently playing very undisciplined football. The coaching staff was not disciplined today and neither were the players. The hit that #25 put on ISU WR #6 was not only cheap but was a perfect example of several negatives the team currently displays. Toph was playing the WR, not the ball, not a good way to play (Note OK ST) also the late hit could have been flagged. The two point conversion almost could have cost the team the game also.
I couldn't agree more...the second half was very unorganized by the coaching staff so I can see where the undiscipline nature is coming from. To go for 2 or not go for 2 and then have to waste a crucial TO...that coulda cost us big.

I thought the refs were consistent in how they called the game, at least when it came to PI calls...I'm not claiming they were perfect, but I saw less bad calls than usual. :D
What is funny is on the internet radio, Kris thought the refereeing was horrible. They rewatched replays after replays on calls and said there was nothing. Obviously I didn't see the game, but Kris has never been this negative of a group of refs before and he is really objective from all other times I've listened (both at the game and at home).

Looking at the total calls for both teams, if you discount the same number of bad calls from each team, I guess ISU never had a call and they should have gotten positive yards as a refund??

Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate.

P.S. I thought today's ref crew was actually quite good.
You have GOT to be kidding me. There were two OBVIOUS non-called PI's on ISU, and a non-call when 2 ISU linmen held Sweet lou on a pass rush. the BSC refs SUCK BALLS!
I saw those 3 missed calles live and I saw them yesterday when I watched the game that I recorded. Sweet Lou pretty much had 2 guys hanging on him busting through the line (taking them for the ride) and ref right there watching it. That ref had a definate 'EGOTRIP'. Even the Altitude announcers talked about it.

Yep. BSC refs suck harder than a hoover. I am :bag: for the BSC refs and how terrible they are.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

El_Gato wrote:Since we've turned this thread into the weekly "Big Sky refs and the mothers who love them", Gav & I discussed the MOST OBVIOUS NON-CALL OF PASS INTERFERENCE IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL on another thread so I'll bring it up here. It was on our second-to-last drive; Travis fires a pass over the middle to (I believe) Gatewood for a first down; while the BALL IS IN THE AIR, HOWEVER, one of ISU's defenders blindsides Barnhart with a hit that could've been seen from SPACE!!!

Hey, Big Sky refs, the ball's in the air & a receiver gets KO'd!!! Where's the damn hankee? (It was probably already where I'd like to have shoved it at that point!)
The foul on Barnhart was unbelievable -- and that it never got called was even more unbelievable.

I'm still pissed about this. We are incredibly lucky Our defense stepped up huge and didn't let it cost us the game. ABSOLUTE DUMBEST decision I've ever seen. And the calling a strait ahead quarterback sneak...SECOND DUMBEST decision I've ever seen. I love Kramer but that was on him, and his excuse in the paper was even more lame.

and being a Seahawks fan, Ive seen a lot of dumb decisions. :bag:

The devil made me do it the first time... the second time I done it on my own.

I was a little pissed about the time-out for the two point conversion, but what really pissed me off was that the best play we could muster was a dumbass QB sneak. I don't care who is playing center, IMAGINATION.
