I'd take Joey in Dallas anyday as well as McFarland. Don't care where they come from as long as they can play. I heard Joey had a good interview with Dallas as well.

Has John Taylor hooked up anywhere? Didn't know he was released by the Lions.

GO CATS!!

Yep that's Dallas, you either love them or you hate them  I've been a fan of theirs since the Staubach days.

I do admit I really hate the "America's team" moniker and I wish Jerry Jones would never show that old wet leather looking face of his :x Just let Bill run the show and Jerry, you just write the checks!

I would love to see Joey running around with a star on his helmet, but I don't think Bill will draft a developmental CB that high in the draft. Third round maybe, but not second or first. Too many other needs needed. I have a feeling Joey is going to Green Bay!

GO CATS!! And good luck Joey!

I would love to see him as a Packer. Although, the star on the helmet would also be ok. Just a note. I heard that Travis Dorsch will be kicking at Green Bay as well. Very reliable source. So to have Joey and Travis on the same team would be awesome.

Dammit, beat me to it.

Haven't heard of any interest, nor do I think they are even in the market for a corner but I would love to see him playing for the Seahawks. Not only do I like watching the Seahawks play but I might even be able to get out to a game someday. Plus, how fitting would it be for Thomas to be playing on Sundays just across town from UW.

Careful HelCat72 you just aged your self a little  I remember watching Pat Donavan play for the Boys. I was miffed when he retired. He had at least two or three years left. But you can't blame him for getting out before he was escorted out like alot of aging players do.

Wish I was able to make it to the scrimmage and attend the lobster feed. But I donate by making it to a few games each year and having a beer or two or three........................................ under the tent.

Off the topic of Joey, I am sure glad to see more Helena players starting to play for MSU. Looking forward to watching Birkeland play on the o-line. Maybe, just maybe in a couple of years we could see Birkeland at OG and Beniger at OT playing next to each other. That would be fun! There are some good players coming out of Helena and I hope more of them will start playing at MSU. It will be intersting to see how Daly developes. I really think this kid is going to be pretty good.

GO CATS!!

Taylor was cut by the Lions last year at the last cut before the season began. He was not kept on their practice squad either. The last I heard was that he was playing Arena League football (can't remember which team) and hoped to get another tryout in the NFL this next year.

Pat donovan Played offensive tackle for the Boys at 265# that would even be small in the BSC. Kind of like Birkland! but Pat was 6'-5".
I remember him telling a story about going to a Pro Bowl and a big defensive tackle from the Eagles came over to him during the press conference there wondering why this scrawny-ass wimp could possibly be in the pro bowl! He obviously didn't recognize him until Pat told him that he was no. 67 for the Cowboys that kicked his ass all over the field last season!

Another follow up by the same guy that wrote the articles in the original post mentioning the same four small school prospects. The whole article can be found at
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/w ... index.html .

Here is the part about Thomas from the article:
As for Thomas, he spent part of Thursday stuck in Seattle traffic, but glad to be away from the ever-present "Do you know where you're going?" question that everyone wants an answer to.

"I just got back from trips to Pittsburg, Dallas, Green Bay and San Francisco, so I'm ready to get this thing going," says Thomas, who could be a late first-round surprise pick.

"A lot of the lower first-round teams have been calling, asking where I've gone on trips, wanting to know which teams have been calling. Some have said that they make take me in that spot, but we'll have to see how it shakes out.

"I'm nervous because you just never know what may happen. But I'm also ready to take advantage of this opportunity. I'm very thankful for that, whatever it may be."
Gonna be cool to see a bobcat get called out on the first day tomorrow. Can't believe I am actually looking forward to watching the nfl draft.

Another one by the same guy that just came out today for those following along at home, this one has some pretty high praise for Thomas and says for some teams he has moved up to the #3 cornerback on their boards, even ahead of Ohio State's Chris Gamble and USC's WIll Poole. Sounds like if the right players are gone and the right team is up late in the first round, Thomas could be off the board before the second round even starts.

True Corner: Small-school product Thomas hot prospect because of CB experience

Best of luck to Joey Thomas. Let's hope he gets added to the long list of current I-AA NFL standouts.

What becomes of Corey Smith? No offense to Thomas as a player, but I wasn't quite impressed with Thomas (mainly becuase I wasn't witness to his big plays) but I was always impressed with Smith. Why isn't he in the draft??

Hey, and good luck to Dylan McFarland tomorrow......

Joey was featured during the sports segment on one of the Seattle stations last night. Nice interview. He was dressed in swets and being interviewed sitting in Seahawk Stadium. He seemed very loose, very friendly and outgoing. They played game film during the interview showing him picking off passes, including one against Washington State. Of course they mentioned how he started his college career at Washington before transferring to "tiny Montana State". But, overall it was good PR for both Joey and the Bobcats.
