Don't they usually hold back a few scholarships? Wonder how many we have for spring transfers. Would really like to see a few dropdowns.
1. Kicker is kinda obvious
2. QB
3. LB. Our depth here was thin all season.

Also, looks like Vigen said exactly this during the presser.

Yeah, I posted this before I saw the presser. I'm just curious because I think of Snell as more of a bowling ball, focusing on blocking, and everything about this guy screams "pass catcher" to me.wbtfg wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:58 pmAlso, looks like Vigen said exactly this during the presser.

Yes, Vigen stated we aren't done recruiting for 2024 yet.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:55 pmDon't they usually hold back a few scholarships? Wonder how many we have for spring transfers. Would really like to see a few dropdowns.

Ditto. It was also very interesting to me when Vigen commented about how everything has changed now, but one positive is that we are able to recruit and sign higher caliber high school kids now because the big time programs and not recruiting as many of the studs from high school due to cherry picking the portal instead. I know that is probably pretty obvious but it took him explaining it for me to get it. I know this will lead to at least some of these young guys only staying here for two or three years but it is what it is.nanacat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:23 pmI appreciated this quote from Vigen..."Retaining your guys is about the experience that they have." Vigen explained. "And, at the same time, understanding that there might be some scenarios, some things offered to some guys that you can’t contend with. So, we got a little bit of both. We got more of those guys that in their mind at this point in time wouldn’t even think of leaving."

Northern Nightmare. Monster Jam monster truck that has a maple leaf on it.
Come to think of it, Montreal Monster. Montreal Mauler. Montreal Marauder?
Something like that, gotta keep the TE nicknames rolling somehow...
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Love the TE nicknames. I think no matter the nickname, it will have to start with ‘Le’ to make the French Canadians of Quebec happy.

I know this isn't the Bobcats, but no one goes to the College Sports board after that gris guy hijacked it.
Anyway, is anyone surprised by this?

I'm a little surprised, yes. Three of the bison players were offered NIL deals to P5 teams, one of which was allegedly 250k according to Entz himself in an article a couple weeks ago, which prompted an emergency meeting of the bison NIL donors. I gue$$ they figured out a way to keep their players around.nanacat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 10:53 amI know this isn't the Bobcats, but no one goes to the College Sports board after that gris guy hijacked it.

I remember that too. Was a bit surprised myself. I mean they are losing alot of seniors someone said, so many the players who were getting approached decided to stick it out to get a playing spot.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 12:07 pmI'm a little surprised, yes. Re: National Signing Day - Wednesday.
The second signing period for high school players starts next Wednesday. Just looking at the current offers, I wouldn't expect more than handful of new signees. Looks like the Cats are still interested in high school defensive backs, a kicker, and maybe a receiver. There also looks to be also some interest in a quarterback but an offer hasn't been announced publicly yet.
I haven't seen much on the transfer side of things. There was an offer to a linebacker transfer out of Washington but he ended up signing with Reno. Obviously, transfers can announce a commitment and sign at any time, so nothing to worry about yet but we won't see them at Spring Ball.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).
