He didn’t play. He was beat out by Jet at the start of the year. He did get hurt though, but think it was in practice, but he wasn’t going to be the starter this year that’s for sure. My brother played at Tech, so it’s not speculation.91catAlum wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 5:30 pmI’m not sure either.AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 5:18 pmHow did Thelen do this Fall? Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Anyone watching the smaller, slower, less accurate version of Troy playing against the Cowboys tonight? I think Troy can play on offense, even QB in a pinch, if a team wants him to.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Not to doubt Troy, but Taysom Hill ran a 4.44 40. He’s fast, fast.coloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:20 pmAnyone watching the smaller, slower, less accurate version of Troy playing against the Cowboys tonight? I think Troy can play on offense, even QB in a pinch, if a team wants him to.

True, but he doesn't look that fast with 21 other guys around him. At least in the second half (I wasn't really watching in the first half). I know Troy was playing against lesser competition but he always looked fast carrying the ball.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:38 pmNot to doubt Troy, but Taysom Hill ran a 4.44 40. Hill looked plenty fast tonight. Not elite, but he can certainly hold his own rushing in the NFL.coloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:46 pmTrue, but he doesn't look that fast with 21 other guys around him. Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

I watched last night and there definitely was a comp for Troy playing last night. It isn’t Hill and he doesn’t play for the Saints.

Let’s pump the brakes a bit here. Parsons was the 12th overall pick and will likely be the nfl defensive rookie of the year.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 7:14 amI watched last night and there definitely was a comp for Troy playing last night. Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Arizona LB Isaiah Simmons and Troy share some traits. No I'm not saying Troy is going in the 1st round like Simmons. He was much more refined as a defender but I believe Troy can get to that level. Their measurables match up.wbtfg wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 8:19 amLet’s pump the brakes a bit here. I was saying he's a comp for Parsons, not that he is Parsons. However if you scroll down and read the scouting notes, his strengths and weaknesses, his measurables. They are very similar, eerily similer.wbtfg wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 8:19 amLet’s pump the brakes a bit here. Measurables and strengths/weaknesses matches Troy's almost exactly.

Definitely an honor just to be nominated as a finalist. Way to go Troy!
The winner has quite the impressive resume.

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
To the left of Troy in the standing photo (our right) is Aidin Hutchinson, the DE out of Michigan who may win the Heisman and has a chance to go #1 overall in the NFL draft. Anyway, Kolar is also one of the top TEs in the draft so Troy is in good company with this group. Great honor to even be a finalist!

He got beat out by Jet Campbell at Tech for the starting spot. Then I heard he got injured at practice.91catAlum wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 5:30 pmI’m not sure either.AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 5:18 pmHow did Thelen do this Fall? I agree that Thelen was the best passing QB in the spring game. I hated to see him leave, he'll be a good one IMO.

He was still just a freshman this fall, eligibility wise, correct? 3 years left?Cataholic wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 11:18 pmHe got beat out by Jet Campbell at Tech for the starting spot. They announce the Buck finalists today and I would bet an uncomfortable amount of $ that Troy is one.

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Thelen may have had the best stats and may have looked like the best qb in the spring game, but he wasn’t the best qb on the team. Probably fifth best overall qb and fourth best passer.91catAlum wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 7:38 amHe was still just a freshman this fall, eligibility wise, correct? 3 years left?Cataholic wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 11:18 pmHe got beat out by Jet Campbell at Tech for the starting spot. This. I appreciate everything Thelen did here, but I saw all of the other scrimmages last spring and Thelen was just not going to play at MSU. He did have the best final scrimmage but did nothing in any other scrimmages.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 7:57 amThelen may have had the best stats and may have looked like the best qb in the spring game, but he wasn’t the best qb on the team.
