We don't need to change. It could be worse. We could have Earle Soloman again. So we should just be happy with what we have because if we make a change we'll regress to obscurity. Don't believe me, just ask all the Ash-Apologists here.BozoneCat wrote:This is absurd. Not sure what else needs to happen to force changes.

It's time to admit that the Cats will win 1 or 2 more games and that is it...and get on the recruiting trail. STAT!

We can't stop fly sweep because we're playing man which keeps the cbs eyes on the receiver, and we get run off. And we don't bump our lbs over.

Ash had an animated discussion with referees at the end of the half. Gunner out with concussion. Interview with Ash he sounds very frustrated. "Defense didn't get enough sleep last night"

Re: Game Thread: Cats at Portland State
Well, guess that's that. The defensive coaches need a hard look at the end of the season. I was hopping to see more improvement from the defense. I think the talent is there, but something is lacking on the coaching side. Wish I could put my finger on it, but I am at a total loss. Hope for better results next year because it isn't going to happen this year, at least on the road.
MAGA!!!

Sheridan was being held by the back of his jersey on that long throw. No call.
Also had not 1 but 2 DBs within range to make a play on the ball, but neither one looks back for the ball. What an ugly play.

Yup. Face the facts, we see not a good football team. We'll win a a couple more.

Re: Game Thread: Cats at Portland State
Portland state has already passed its game average for yards in the first half
It amazes me how last year UND gets a new coach and there defense gets significantly better. This year Portland State gets a new coach and look at them. Our coaches are too set in there ways. They has not been a fire in the defense for almost 4 years now. Ioane has the guys playing with passion finally but they are not disciplined at all

Re: Game Thread: Cats at Portland State
We have talent on the D. Collins, Bignell, Strong and Yates will be fine when they get older. But they're not right now (well Bignell is). The rest of the D may be talented, but this staff has not put them in a position to be successful.

You are crazy if you think the talent is there. We are not fast enough, strong enough and we tackle foe isht. Does not appear to be any leaders in defense. I will agree they don't appear to be very well coached either.

He always has an excuse but never an answer to fix anything

I wouldn't even wish our defense on the Griz.

Is Ioane the one not filling the proper gaps, taking bad angles, losing contain, and not getting off blocks?CelticCat wrote:Fire Ioane...

There's zero talent or coaching on the d. That's the sad truth.CPACAT wrote:You are crazy if you think the talent is there. We are not fast enough, strong enough and we tackle foe isht. Does not appear to be any leaders in defense. I will agree they don't appear to be very well coached either.

I just said that they're not there yet. I see their potential, but they're not there yet. But I'm afraid this defensive staff can't get them there.

Games not over yet....maybe we can wait until the end of the game to start firing people.

Re: Game Thread: Cats at Portland State
I do think it's time for a fire sale on defense. We can not stop a breeze...and it is bad technique, bad prep, bad plan...and bad recruiting. Time for a new start. Plan on 3 years of frustration on the defensive side of the ball. Hard to admit it, but even the hapless griz look better than the Cats simply because they have a defense.

Number 8 for PSU should be suspended next week. Multiple times with helmet to helmet.
