Colorado CB John Walker -- grad transfer to MSU

Nice! If your name is Johnny Walker, you pretty much have to go with a blue label team like the cats

I heard from my sources there was going to be a Boom subcommittee headed by a Boom Czar, featuring members of various community groups around Bozeman and MSU. Plenty of rightful anger about the potential noise-shed impact. This is not the end.

I have it on good authority that I have zero idea what a "BOOM" means anymore because coaches can't comment on a player until they sign a LOI as a PSA, or they enroll at a transfer.

Can't one of our Griz posters who are "Bobcat Insiders" give us the scoop?

I will hope for the bestbest, but l will have to temper my excitement.. 2nd string and got the "most improved" award. In my experience, that's usuallyusually a feel good award to someone who is lacking in the talent area.. Hope I am pleasantly surprised
I think we have had more drop downs that didn't do anything for our program than drop downs that actually helped our program. I was sold on Marino like everyone else. That kid could have been hearing his name called in Chicago on draft day. Hope this kid turns heads come September and takes advantage of this opportunity.
But then half of our recent (5yrs) draft picks was a drop-down.

Trying to remember drop downs, without researching it, you mentioned Marino, from memory: (I know there's a lot more)
Marino -
Carter +
Tappan ?
Keeton +
Knight + then -
Sandland ++
Brown +
Barnett +
Thomas +
Kempt +
Akpla +
Robinson +
Rolovich +

+ meaning they played and made positive contributions
- meaning bad apple or non- contributor
++ all- American and NFL draft pick

.
Im going to disagree with you on Rolovich. Carp was the guy that year, as he was the one who helped the Cats beat CU. Rolo was very inconsistent.

To add to the list: was Crawford a JC transfer or a dropdown? Cant remember, but he definitely made his mark in Bozeman.

FBS drop downs have been very good to MSU and other FCS programs. JC transfers not as much.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Is that anything like..."you can zoom a zoom but you can't zoom a schwartz"?

Demitrius Crawford (mentioned above) and Orenzo Davis were both pretty good JC RB's for us.

Still remember Davis bouncing off Tru Johnson and finding the end zone, he had a big game in that win over there in zooland.

John Walker is officially a Bobcat. He has been accepted into Montana State. I will have a full story later this week.

Excellent! Our secondary can certainly use him. Hoping Hale qualifies also, could be some real talent at CB this year.

Crawford's last year at MSU was 2008 or 2009. Orenzo Davis's first year was 2010.

Great news! I was bummed when he left to go to UND. We need some experience/depth in the secondary. Hopefully Hale is able to transfer in as well.

There are ways they could say who it is. Without really saying who it is.

Yes, very good news indeed.
Why wouldn't Hale be able to transfer?

Someone had mentioned he has yet to qualify academically just yet (credit transfers etc.). I don't know if that is for sure the case though (just going what I read above). I guess we will see when Fall camp starts up.

Colter said above that he has been accepted at MSU, so there doesn't appear to be any academic/credit issues.
