Leaves Idaho a star, plays 1/2 games, goes to Texas State and only lasts spring ball. Can't imagine that is for a better offer, seems more like didn't win job at Texas State.
I didn’t follow him after he left Idaho but it says he started 9 games for Oregon State. ???
So a little more than 1/2 but transferred to Texas State. Can't imagine that was for more money so must have lost the job.

This is the same thing Ifanse did, right? Transfer once during the winter window and then again during the spring window. Thank goodness a player can't transfer three times in the same off-season, although I wouldn't be overly surprised if that is coming soon...

He left Idaho with the Jerry Rice and transferred to OSU. Was named the starter at the beginning of the season and they started pretty good (4-1) but then they lost 5 or 6 and he got benched for the last few games. I didn't think the struggles were due to his play but they weren't exactly lighting it up on offense. He hit the Portal and there was some pretty concrete rumors that he was coming back to the FCS and was basically committed to Incarnate Word. Texas St came in at the 11th hour and he committed there a few months ago. Now he is back in the Portal and i would guess Incarnate Word or New Mexico to play for Eck again is the plan.

Reading this I was just thinking that an improvement could be made to this mess by only having one window per year, or limiting transfers to one per year! I think that might require players to really think about these transfers before they just jumped.

How can being at three schools with two transfers in one academic year be beneficial to an athlete’s academic career? I’d love to see a chart of McCoy’s class attendance for the 2024-2025 school year. Many schools are on different schedules and you can’t just jump at random and line up with classes.

Will it soon be forbidden to refer to football mercenaries as student-athletes?

Yeah, lots of questions on how one transfer a year would work and I'm not sure how they would do it, but I agree. I doubt college teams would like one transfer window though and I know players wouldn't. No early transfer window for Spring transfers. I don't know.

Lamson just did it too, transferred twice in a couple of months, but he never set foot on Bowling Green for Spring ball. Apparently, he just got enrolled in on-line classes there.

A lot of Sac transfers this spring. Being told to leave as they try to ramp up talent for FBS?

20 total tackles last year so not a big contributor. Big kid though at 6'6" and 295.

He started 10 games for them last year and had 3.5 sacks. DTs generally aren't going to have big tackle stats so I don't read too much into that number.
