Timeouts Again!!!!!

Post by CPACAT » Wed Oct 11, 2006 9:36 am

Great win this weekend. Great effort and a lot of heart shown.

But, once again we get the ball back with 2:38 seconds left in the half and no freakin timeouts left.

We have a first and goal at the 7 after a nice play and either can't get the personnel in the game or a play called. Why are we not prepared for a first a goal?

The next time out we punt the ball and have PSU backed up and have to burn a timeout before they run a play? Is someone not paying attention?

I am glad we won but this really frustrates me. It is going to bite us in the A$$ before the season is over. Can someone explain what is going on?

To be fair I am pretty sure we ended the game with all three timeouts, so they didn't have any of those problems in the second half.

Yeah. Use your timeouts in the first half if you have any doubts. Especially in a defensive battle, when one big play could turn the outcome. I don't really like it either, but I would rather they get it right.

I have an issue with our TO usage: we basically just tried to get out of the first half by not using TO's and just basically escaping unhurt. OK, I can kind of see that. AT THE END OF THE THIRD QUARTER, WHY WAS THERE SUCH A RUCH TO GET A PLAY OFF. THERE WAS NO PLAY CLOCK AND THEREFORE NO NEED TO RUSH A PLAY. Which I might add, is the play that Carpenter hurt his ankle on because it was a busted play and he improvised. There was no need to try and do anything at all right then and there. Why the sense of urgency with 15 seconds left in a quarter and no hurry with 2:30 left in the half?????
