Kramer's conference record

Post by kmax » Mon Oct 09, 2006 8:58 pm

Just saw this little tidbit on the BigSky website.
Kramer Approaches 50th league victory: Montana State coach Mike Kramer will gun for his 49th career Big Sky Conference victory on Saturday against Sacramento State. Kramer is looking to become just the third coach in league history to win 50 conference games. Nevada’s Chris Ault is the all-time leader with a conference record of 68-28 from 1979-91. Montana’s Don Read went 54-22 in conference games from 1986-95. Kramer enters Saturday with a league record of 49-43. Kramer was the head coach at Eastern Washington from 1994-99. He has been Montana State’s head man since 2000. Kramer was 23-22 in conference games at EWU. He is 25-21 in league games at Montana State. Kramer guided EWU to the 1997 Big Sky Championship, and has led MSU to co-championships in 2002, 2003, and 2005. Kramer’s 72 overall wins also ranks third in league history behind Ault (111) and Read (85).
Let's get #49 at Sac and then head to Pokey for #50!

Considering the contract (or lack there of) situation, that's pretty impressive. Tough to find a guy to commit on a yearly basis, hopefully that will change.

Congrats big baldy, win out until 11/18.

After reading the article, Kramer is now 49-43. This weeks game at Sac State COULD make Kramer 50-43. If you look at how the schedule goes, he could tie Don Read at 54 with a win over montana at montana. How sweet would that be???!!!???

Interesting point, which also goes to longevity, (or possibly futility with another spin). Anybody know the answer?

Going into the 2006 season, here are the records:

All time BSC wins - Chris Ault (Nevada) 68, Don Read (Montana) 54
All time BSC losses - Mike Kramer (Montana St) 42, Tim Walsh (Portland St) 39

Kramer better watch out...Walsh is closing the gap. :x

Sweet??? He is no where close to Don Read in the more important stat - Percentage of games won. Stay with an average coach long enough and he will hold all the records.

Reed 71% winning record, coach K 53%

Bobby could hit 50 wins next year. 33 - 12 right now. Looking at this team, I would not be one bit surprised if he does hit 50 in the playoffs next year. LOL. I know, I know, I'm getting way ahead of myself, and getting slightly off topic.

Gene Carlson might have that record.

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.
