Kory Fuller (I mean Andre)
The TV color guy just said that Fuller is the best cover corner that the CATS have. ?????? HE IS NOT GOOD. I don't care if he is a three year starter or not, he is just not a good DB. He just gave up a long TD pass by getting beat by 4 steps. Real good my a$$.

Re: Kory Fuller
Are you talking about Kory Austin or Andre Fuller? I don't think the Cats have a Kory Fuller there? I'm listening on the radio so I don't know who got burned.94VegasCat wrote:The TV color guy just said that Fuller is the best cover corner that the CATS have. ?????? HE IS NOT GOOD. He may be a former NFL player but he is defitnately not a good color guy. The play that Murietta lined up as a receiver, the camera followed him all the way out to where he lined up. About 10 seconds after the play was done he pipes in and says "I don't know if you noticed but Murietta was lined up as a reciever on that play."Billings_Griz wrote:The color guy is a former NFL player, Ron Heller. Not that I agree/disagree, just saying he played in the NFL.

I totally agree, our DB's really need to tighten things up. Our pass rush looked great, but our secondary is having problems staying with the receivers and closing on the ball as soon as its in the air. I hope we iron these issues out before Portland visits.94VegasCat wrote:lol, I am thinking that neither of them are that good, so I guess I mixed them together. #9 Andre Fuller is the one who was burned. He gave up an easy first down early as well, by playing 10 yards off on a 3 & 7.

Yep. As much as I would like to have 2 shut down corners, it simply won't happen every play. Even the best get beat sometimes (See Champ Bailey, McAllister, et. al.). NAU has a pretty talented Receiving corps.LoyalCat wrote:I agree with you Cardiac, after reading this board, you would have thought we did nothing right.
Give some credit
The thing I like is that Austin had 3 DEEP passes defended, 2 of which he had a shot at intercepting. That, and Fuller is as sure a tackler as any on our team.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

The concern is the 10 yard cushions we give on 3rd. and 5. Every team can get those completions at will and march down the field. We can give the cushion if we can close the gap quickly and stop them for a 4 yard gain, and if our safeties can help cover if we jump a quick route and then they go deep.

That is obviously a coaching thing. I would prefer to see us bump and run, especially in 3rd and short situations, but that is not what the coaches want, so....tetoncat wrote:The concern is the 10 yard cushions we give on 3rd. and 5. Exactly, a bump and run would also slow up the receivers, allowing more time for our DL to get to the QB.grizzh8r wrote:That is obviously a coaching thing. As I pointed out on another thread, 3rd and 5 is not the problem. 3rd and 15 was until last week, when we finally got some pressure on the QB.#34 wrote:Exactly, a bump and run would also slow up the receivers, allowing more time for our DL to get to the QB.grizzh8r wrote:That is obviously a coaching thing. I don't have a problem with giving the receiver a cushion (so we don't get beat deep). I do have a huge problem giving the receiver a 10 yard cushion on a 3 and 5 or shorter. It's like saying "HERE YA GO, WE'LL GIVE YOU THIS ONE"
