Let's have a little fun...

Post by Platinumcat » Wed Sep 27, 2006 10:38 am

I know we're in the middle of football season. But, it's been so serious on here lately. Soooooooo, I thought we'd change gears a little while still talking football.

1) Who do you think is going to step up this weekend and have a huge game against NAU?

2) Carpenter's stats?

3) Yards by Mason?

4) Tackle leader on D?

5) How many INT's?

6) Turnover margin?

My predictions:
1) Jefferson's hustle on the field is going to finally pay rewards...I see him having an absolutely huge game on the turf.
2) Cory's under the gun (IMO). I think he forces himself out of his comfort zone this weekend and breaks through. I say 25-40 246 yds. 3 td's and 1 int. I also say he runs for 38 yards.
3) Mason on the turf sounds like a good combo. But, I think he only touches the ball 16 times for 83 yards. Rushes for one td. Best of all, he takes care of business blocking for Carpenter when we pass.
4) Daly and Clive harass Murietta all night. But, tackle leaders go to Fuller and LeBlanc as NAU passes 53 times.
5) With Daly and Clive on Murietta's case, I'm saying we get two
6) We win this stat for the first time (it was zero at CU right?); +1

I know I'm being optimistic here. But, I've seen it too many times where a negative attitude or even an inkling of doubt does not allow you to mentally perform the task at hand. So, I'm calling for a win...we can do it.....we will do it.

I hope the players aren't on this board...but I will still say it...fellas I believe in you...I believe that you have the talent....I believe you have the coaches...I believe!

Go get 'em Cats :!:

First, let me say I am really curious how we play on the artificial turf. Our speed should really come to show this weekend hopefully.

1) I think Jefferson has a really big game as well along with Mason. I bet we see 2-3 long break off runs with Mason taking one to the house.

2) I want to see Carpenter have a very efficient day. Be careful with the ball and not have any TO's. I would like to see 18-23 225 2 TD's 0 INT's. That in my opinion is the perfect game for him for us to win. It means we are actually running the ball. BALANCE is what our offense needs right now.

3) Mason 80 yards (30 receiving) - 1 TD (35+ yard score to the house)

4) I agree, I think Leblanc is our tackle leader this week with all the passing NAU will be doing. HOWEVER, I also want Leblanc and our CORNERS to be the BIG HIT leaders too this weekend. We need to put FEAR into those WR's that they may catch the ball but it is going to hurt EVERY play when they do. HIT EM HARD and BE PHYSICAL EVERY PLAY SECONDARY. If they catch the ball on you (which is going to happen) get MAD AND PHYSICAL on them. Don't hang your head ---> BAM!!!

5) I think Carpenters timing will be there this week. O INT's as we will RUN THE BALL and be more balanced attack this week. We need to make the LB's HONEST and spread them out with delay/shuffle pass type runs (yes I said shuffle pass Griz fans :). We also need to run out the TE's in pass patterns to spread the LB's/Safeties out. Carpenter and the TE's/WR's need to do a better job of reading the blitz and getting the ball away on the hot route. MAKE THEM PAY I SAY!!!

6) I think we get 1 pick this week for a +1 TO margin.

1) Claggett will get 2 sacks and an INT

2) Carpenter will hopefully go 12-20 as we find our running game and don't throw 45/3yrd passes...he will have a total of 186yds with 1 TD and 1 INT

3) Mason will have 85 yds, Taito will have 67, Carpenter will break free for a total 38 yds...Jefferson along with having 90 yds receiving will also have 40 yds rushing on a reverse.

4) I would have to say Marcosus LeBlanc as tackle leader

5) 2 INT's, but we will have 6 balls batted down

6) +2

That's what the swami says!!!

I say the two deep's will provide the shock n awe, it will come from non-starters primarily in the recieving corps. CB's will have a big game! It's time to rotate players in when starters ain't getnr done. This does two things for us, let's us see some hungry kids play and find some hidden talent, and it lights a fire under the starters that ain't got no fire. I would love to see a game where 5-7 guys have catches. And more than just the starting CB's knock folks out of their shoes. Let's create some competition!

During camp I thought the receiving corp was very deep. Let's try out the depth. Lulay and Bolton displayed great hands, let's see them more in the games. Heck, after spring ball, I would like to see Gazzero get a try at RB. Time to shake it up, could it hurt?

Good post bcat. Good attitude. I don't know what chance we have but I will be pulling for the Cats all the way. We are definately due at the Skydome and maybe, just maybe, the jacks will be taking this one for granted.

Hmm, I say 13-21, 205 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 43 minutes played. The other TD will be a Mason run on a mis-direction play call.

Very perceptive guys! The person who predicted Clagett would have 2 sacks and an INT was RIGHT ON. That leaping grab he had was one of the best plays of the day. I'll still count it as an INT. Too bad Micheal Beach had PI on his man.

Oh well, the Cats won!

All it takes now is 6 straight wins and we are the Big Sky champs with the autobid into the playoffs (By virtue of Head to head vs. Griz, and assuming EWU loses once more).

GO CATS!!!
