Anyone read the Game Day section from the Chronicle?

Post by rtb » Sat Sep 30, 2006 1:12 pm

I love the section that highlights gameday and it is by far the best Bobcat coverage in Montana, but is there an editor that works there?

They compare the key positions of each team and give someone the edge. The only problem is the QB breakdown is from last weekends game. Not a huge deal, but still annoying.

And the Cat's OLine vs NAU's DLine breakdown:
'Cats have given Rob Carpenter time to throw, but haven't opened up the running game. Jacks have been better against the run than pass.
Well, I sure hope Rob can get us on track this week!

That's just sad.

Family is family forever, until they become a Griz fan.

I love Rob, not as much as I love lamp, but pretty close.

Cat_stache_fever listens to Nickelback...and enjoys it.

I did catch the QB screw up this morning. Unfortunately, nothing in the Chronicle surprises me.

That's about as good as the televised Griz-Viking game by KPAX showing the offensive backfield personnel of Portland State in a side bar on the screen; showing the Cal Poly line-up instead.
During the televised portion of MSU/NAU there were a couple of mistakes I took note of:
1) showed our record at 1-2 and NAU as 1-0 ?

2) At one point the score had us listed as MST. What the? That can't even be excused as a typo as the two aren't next to each other.

I'm pretty sure that Rob Carpenter doesn't have any eligibility left after playing for Houston and the NY Giants from 1977-1986. As a matter of fact, I think he has a kid who either played or is still playing at Ohio State. That being the case, perhaps this is like the classic Robert Conrad movie "Glory Days" where a middle aged man decides to go back to college and somehow ends up quarterbacking the team and single handedly saves the football program through a sheer force of will that only Robert Conrad could muster. If anyone ever deserved an honorary Oscar it's Robert Conrad for "Glory Days."
