Chawn Johnson to Wyoming!?

Post by mslacat » Fri Sep 22, 2006 7:21 am

Former Bobcat Chawn Johnson is being recruited by Wyoming among other for next year. If he did sign with Wyoming it will bring a whole new dimension to the Border War contest that MSU and Wyoming hold each year! I have heard that Chawn really does like Bozeman and that might be enough to bring him back, BUT the catcher is that if Chawn is as good as some of hoped he would be he will most likely sign with higher profile school, if he is not as good we stand a chance of getting him back.

Best of luck Mr. Johnson.

Found on the net: a portion of a larger article.

After a strong run at Fullerton College, Dieter Horton moved over to Antelope Valley College. Horton likes the situation at AVC as his first season approaches.

"We've got some guys. There's no doubt we've got some guys," Horton told JucoJunction. "We got lucky and blessed with a few things. Where do I start?"...........

........ Pepperdine and Colorado State were also on the AVC campus on Thursday to watch Dagunduro. Another Marauder the Rams were hoping to see was 6-foot-9 Chawn Johnson, a transfer from Montana State University.

"He has a Big 12 body," Horton said. "He is really athletic and bouncy. Talent-wise, he is unbelievably solid."

In addition to CSU, Charlotte will be in next week to check out Johnson and Wyoming is recruiting him as well. Johnson got a redshirt season at MSU last year after tearing his meniscus, so he will go somewhere with three years to play. Out of high school, Johnson was a McDonald's all-America nominee and was recruited by the likes of Auburn, Nebraska, Utah and Iowa State.

I would say one of the main reason why Chawn is no longer at MSU is because there was tension between him and Coach Huse. Since I don't see Coach Huse moving on anytime real soon, I would be real surprised to see Chawn back in a Bobcat uni. Coach Huse will do an outstanding job with our team, but I wish Chawn great success with whomever he ends up with. Sounds like he is good kid with a good work ethic; he deserves a shot somewhere.
