Half Time Deep Breaths
Some good things:
- Lamson has been mostly accurate and has made good decisions so far.
- OL has pass blocked decently well.
- Taco being Taco.
- Taylor has looked decent coming in at LB
- Sanstead is $$
Some not so good things:
- Defense has looked rough
- punting yikes
- Run game has been shut down.
- Beyond Taco, WRs haven’t gotten any separation.
- Neil going down with injury.
- DL has been a non factor.
Now the question is, Which of these deficits are red flags moving forward, what can be chalked up to superior talent for Oregon?

The talent deficit has caused us to be very vanilla on offense. I think we can draw very little from any of this except 650 grand.wbtfg wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 3:29 pmSome good things:

So far, Cats keep playing hard. Hopefully they never give up. Lots of learning opportunities for everyone - maybe even coaches.
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do, but 48-23 may be the best of all.

Lanning knew how good Taco was coming in and he's still having a good game. That might be the most encouraging thing to come out of this game.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

It’s like a highschool team vs a college team…. Really hard to take ANYTHING away from this game…. Other than the fact that Taco is gonna be a problem this year.

It's exactly what I expected and predicted. Honestly im pleasantly surprised with our QB and surprisingly DB play. I'm a little disappointed in the front seven.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 3:50 pmIt’s like a highschool team vs a college team…. Really hard to take ANYTHING away from this game…. Re: Half Time Deep Breaths
We seemed content to try and keep the LoS and didn't really seem to be trying to penetrate. Guess they wanted to keep the lanes but it meant 0 negative plays.seataccat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 4:35 pmIt's exactly what I expected and predicted. I’m no expert…. But it seems like the game plan was pretty vanilla on both sides of the ball, which would make sense. Just get through this game and keep the tape pretty boring for SDSU.
