The Big Sky recently renewed their contract with Scripps Sports to broadcast UM and MSU football games, and part of that contract says that Scripps has exclusive rights to broadcast Cat/Griz on linear TV. Aside from streaming on ESPN+ I don't think ESPN could broadcast the game nationally even if they wanted to.

Everyone get your warm weather gear ready if that's going to be one of those 8:30 PM kickoffs in mid November!

That should make our home field advantage even greater against a warm weather school like Davis.

The 2022 game in Bozeman against UCD was also a night game nationally televised on ESPN.

Some details about the new contract with ESPN:

-4 national games per season
-minimum of 2 games will be on ESPN or ESPN2
-1 game cannot include either Montana State or Montana
-Montana State vs Montana is exempt from ESPN (this means the game will continue to be at the traditional noon local slot)

I see the Cal Poly game is listed for 5 pacific time on their and ESPN websites. Not on MSU yet.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).
