Re: Prospect X
I sincerely question how any scouts got to Bozeman last season and didn't know about Tommy. That is borderline scouting malpractice

Re: Prospect X
One interesting part from the article was where 'prospect X' is talking to an NFL special teams coordinator who "has strong connections to X's college conference". Anyone know any former Big Sky players or coaches that are a now special teams coordinator for an NFL team?

Colt Anderson at Tennessee for a while, but he lost his job in January.110010110 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:52 pmOne interesting part from the article was where 'prospect X' is talking to an NFL special teams coordinator who "has strong connections to X's college conference". Going through the list.
John Fassel at Tennessee coached for a bit at Idaho State.
Dave Fipp at Detroit coached at Cal Poly.
Tom McMahon of the Raiders was born in Helena and coached at Bozeman High and Carroll.

Re: Prospect X
Thats interesting, because the current ST coordinator for Tennessee is John Fassel, a former Weber State WR. The Titans have a 5th round and two 6th round picks this yearAFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 9:09 pmColt Anderson at Tennessee for a while, but he lost his job in January.110010110 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:52 pmOne interesting part from the article was where 'prospect X' is talking to an NFL special teams coordinator who "has strong connections to X's college conference". Re: Prospect X
Fassel would definitely be my choice for the "veteran special teams coordinator" mentioned in the article. He also worked for the Cowboys through last season, who are another team Tommy has worked out for. So it makes sense that Fassel could have learned about Tommy while in his previous job.110010110 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 9:14 pmThats interesting, because the current ST coordinator for Tennessee is John Fassel, a former Weber State WR. Colt Anderson now works for the 49ers but is no longer a special teams coordinator.

Re: Prospect X
Just a quick update but Colt Anderson is currently the assistant special teams coach of the 49ers and they did mention an NFC West team was there several times. The Seahawks seem to take a Bobcat or a Griz every year (either as an UDFA or a tryout prospect), so they could have been the NFC West team in attendance they were talking about as well.AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 9:09 pmColt Anderson at Tennessee for a while, but he lost his job in January.110010110 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:52 pmOne interesting part from the article was where 'prospect X' is talking to an NFL special teams coordinator who "has strong connections to X's college conference". According to MSU's social media post, both the 49ers and Seahawks sent scouts to MSU's pro day. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tommy end up with either of those two teams.blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 8:08 amJust a quick update but Colt Anderson is currently the assistant special teams coach of the 49ers and they did mention an NFC West team was there several times. He's not special teams, but Junior Adams is the WR coach for the Cowboys.

Re: Prospect X
I don’t think either of those teams are a good place for him. I think he either needs to end up with a good quarterback or a good offensive coach or a good set of WRs if he’s going to excel.MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 8:16 amAccording to MSU's social media post, both the 49ers and Seahawks sent scouts to MSU's pro day. He’s good at developing QBs and RBs, not WRs. Very inconsistent overall. I’d like to see him with Niners as a fan but not for Mellott.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:43 pmYeah. Can you imagine him with the Bengals, Joe Burrow at QB with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on the outsides and Tommy lined up as the slot WR? Good luck to any defenses trying to cover that group!

One could argue a role like Deebo had would be ideal for Tommy.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:56 pmHe’s good at developing QBs and RBs, not WRs. Very inconsistent overall. A Deebo role with addition of being able to throw. Great article, I particularly enjoyed the story about how Tommy is dating a former Griz dancer and attended their basketball game to watch her perform when they celebrated the 2023 Big Sky championship. Hard to imagine a better piece of motivation, if any was needed, for Tommy to go out and have the senior season he did than that!

Outkick actually posted pics from her Instagram a few years ago and she completely deleted it afterwards. Alot of football player's girlfriends would be all about the publicity and use it as a stepping stone. It really shows who they are they she would rather not have the attention. Really rooting for this couple. Such awesome people.MSU01 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:07 amGreat article, I particularly enjoyed the story about how Tommy is dating a former Griz dancer and attended their basketball game to watch her perform when they celebrated the 2023 Big Sky championship.
