He's just saying the exact same things that everyone here does about the portal.

Exactly. One big comment i noticed. He essentially said it's a business now and if players want paid and easy transfer they will be expected to perform or be gone. That will be the downside to NIL and portal. Less patience for young players by many coaches

Yeah, the thing that drives me nuts is opposing programs recruiting guys that aren’t even in the portal. That’s supposed to be against the rules, but they do it anyway.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 6:57 amExactly. One big comment i noticed. Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Yep, and if Hauck is correct, not only is that strictly against the rules, but in a lot of cases they're telling them, quit the Bobcat team and enter the portal, we'll pick you up and pay you a bunch of money..... and they get there in the Fall and don't pay them. That would P*** me off to no end... in fact it already does.AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 7:36 amYeah, the thing that drives me nuts is opposing programs recruiting guys that aren’t even in the portal. In some parts of the country, there are high schools that poach “recruit” players. Even attending junior high track meets to look for future running backs and receivers. Not supposed to but they do. The high school athletic association is not interested in pursuing poaching violations because it’s usually the wealthy private schools with attorneys on standby ready to challenge any allegation. This is what I’ve heard from high school coaches I know.
