I tend to view All-American teams as identifying the best players, not necessarily the most valuable players to their teams. If it's most valuable players then you could argue that no Bobcat other than Tommy should be on the list at all, since MSU has weathered and can continue to weather injuries at other positions as long as #4 stays healthy and in the lineup. Both Scottre and Larison are incredibly good players, instead of arguing which one should be higher than the other I think the better argument is that both should be on the 1st team instead of on the 2nd and 3rd!blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 12:25 pmNo offense to Scottre or anyone else with this opinion but I think if Larison is out with injury, UC Davis loses more games. If Scottre is out with injury, I think MSU continues rolling. That, to me, makes Larison a more valuable player and therefore higher on the list. But that's just my opinion and how I'd rank them.

That just means the Cats have better depth. A player being more valuable to their team doesn't make them the best at their position in conference or nation. That depth also takes touches away especially in blowouts.blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 12:25 pmNo offense to Scottre or anyone else with this opinion but I think if Larison is out with injury, UC Davis loses more games.
