I guess we will disagree. They past the early eye test to me.iaafan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 5:51 pmNo they don’t. They can’t put anyone away so their starters stay in and rack up offense. No, UND doesn’t have a good defense.Common Cat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:57 amWhat they’ve given up on defense they’ve gained in spades on offense. I did stay up late and watched most of that game. I'm ranking based on who I think the best teams will end up being by the end of the season, which won't always match up exactly with results of individual games. Always fun to see how different people view things!iaafan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 5:52 pmYes, UCD is number 2. MSU01 must not have been able to stay up late last night. lolProdigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 5:04 pmI mean didn't Davis just beat Idaho?

It takes some moxy to post your power ranking every week. Keep it up CommonCat and remember, opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one.

I guess you haven't heard that expression. It's not an indictment, just a fact that everyone has both. BN has very few "buttholes".

Re: Big Sky Power Week 5
Yes. I’ve watched who they’re playing too. Gris got over half their rushing yards on three plays. Ewu is horrible on defense, but since Gris couldn’t put them away they had to leave starters in and consequently had huge numbers. Sometimes you’re on as Gris were. So it was a perfect storm. They won’t be able to sustain it. Just like last year when they were hot on offense for a few games and reverted back to the norm.Common Cat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 9:09 pmHave you even watched them this year?iaafan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:23 pmPassed. Re: Big Sky Power Week 5
A bit of a shakeup after opening week of conference play. 2 and 3 could be considered a tie. Davis beating Idaho was better than UM hanging for a win over EWU. (But maybe EWU is pulling things back together.)
1. Montana State---Did as expected and earned a road win in the Pocatello Dome.
2. Montana---Squeaked out a hard to earn W in Cheney.
3. UC Davis ---Took down a good Idaho team and makes a jump up.
4. Idaho ---The road loss drops Idaho, but Idaho remains in contention for the conference crown.
5. Northern Arizona---Nice win over a highly ranked Sac team. Is this a sign of what is to come or like last year when NAU beat the Griz in the Skydome?
6. Sacramento State---Sac drops after a road loss. And like Idaho, Sac remains in contention for the conference crown.
7. Weber State---Weber was upset in Odgen by MacNeese State. (That is how the announcers said it)
8. Idaho State---Took a loss at home against the top team in conference. ISU is an improving team and may be a contender in a year or two.
9. Eastern Washington---Will EWU keeps its focus after several losses to start the season? or fall apart like last year?
10. Portland State---Took another loss on a long away game. Their brutal schedule continues.
11. Cal Poly---CP surprised me in Greely and moves up a spot.
12. Northern Colorado---NC has fallen apart the past 2 games and has a lot of rebuilding to do. Next up is a road game against the top team in conference.
RECAP: 1-3 out front, 4-6 Just a half step behind, 7-9 Middle of the pack, 10-11 rebuilding, 12 way back

This is how I see it, too, but I would put Idaho in the top group still. I watched a little bit of their game and I thought there was some bad coaching decisions like in their game against ACU.wapiti wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:08 amA bit of a shakeup after opening week of conference play. 2 and 3 could be considered a tie. After this weekend I think Sac St is not as good as I thought the well previously, Weber is on the way down, Idaho State and NAU are on the way up, and the Griz defense is not good, but their schedule will help them in the standings.

I think its a shame that the school of dance does not play Idaho this year. I hope they face off early in the playoffs

Idaho State

10) Cal Poly
11) Northern Colorado
I think the Griz defense is hot, wet, steaming garbage. Horrible. Front is bad, corners suck, only 1 LB with BSC speed. A shell of itself. But they have top to bottom a very good to great group of skill players and are getting good QB play and ST play. Can the Oline hold up against us, against Davis, and into the playoffs, will be the question. I nearly put them at 2. Should, based on their cupcake schedule. But I think at this point we're clearly better.

Re: Big Sky Power Week 5
I truly believe that MSU is the best team top to bottom in the BSC this year and it really isn't that close. The question then becomes can we hold it together for a full season and not have a let down at the wrong time. Maybe we already had that at UNM and overcame it but we will get everyone's best shot week in and week out so they've gotta keep the focus for 14 weeks. If there is one coach I think can do that, it's Vigen. He does bring that steady Eddy vibe.
Question: Do we have team "partners" like we used to with UM and UNC that we play every year or it just one other team now?

The Big Sky still has the yearly opponent setup. Right now MSU plays UM and EWU every year.technoCat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 4:39 pmI truly believe that MSU is the best team top to bottom in the BSC this year and it really isn't that close.
