Why can’t we get a professional appearing backdrop like this instead of the wrinkled sheet look we always use? His interview on YouTube gives you an idea of his personality. Seems like a good man. He’ll have his team ready come Saturday, it’s going to be a fight!
I get that it is frustrating. I dont like it either. However, if you watch the videos MSU puts out, it looks similar to this.
I think it is fair to say also that the person holding the camera holds some responsibility too for not figuring out how to get a good shot of the person being interviewed and omit the parts of the backdrop that look wrinkled and awful. I know that it can be done with a minimum of forethought and effort. I will also say that if it were my business paying to have my name on the backdrop I would've made a phone call a long time ago to get that backdrop looking like it should.
I agree but I also think, in a way, it’s a testament to our programs success in the sense that there are 2 or 3 copies of each MSU press conference put out every time because multiple news outlets cover it as well as the university communications teams. UNM, on the other hand, only has the university comms team putting out the video because local news doesn’t care as much about the football team. That’s why they only have to worry about 1 camera angle.

That said, it’s still a fairly easy problem to solve, and I’d like to see an effort made to address it.
Hi there. I just wanted to point out that UNM isn't the only entity who covers the press conferences. The city's big newspaper, the Albuquerque Journal, also records the interviews, but from a different angle. The local news, especially the Journal, does care quite a bit about both the football and basketball teams and covers both pretty extensively. There's not a whole lot going on sports wise in Albuquerque besides the two major college teams (football/basketball), so they both get covered a lot, even when they're bad.

Here's a video of the Bronco conference from the Journal:

Hoping to have a great game today between the two schools!
