Old scoreboard

We will be visiting Livingston and Townsend in July. Will a person be able to go to the BAC, etc and go and check it all out?

Was looking forward to visiting some old friends in Livingston and Bozeman but while checking on them online found out that a great old friend in Bozeman had passed away last November. Bummer...

You can't just walk through the building for obvious reasons. However, if you donated some money toward the buildings construction, sponsored a locker, QBC member, or know someone at MSU that has access, then you can probably set up a tour.

Well shoot, figured that was probably the case.

You could probably risk walking into the main lobby, if the door is unlocked, and look at the helmet display and the weight room through the windows, but I wouldn't go any farther than the main staircase.

I wasn't sure if there was someone there at most times but it is in the middle of the summer when classes are out..

If this thing is going to have ads displayed on both sides, this was a complete waste. We better utilize the whole freakin screen and instant replay.

I predict we are going to see the video board display morph throughout the game. There will be full screen displays, partial screen displays, ads, stats, scores, etc. There won't be just one look to the screen like we see in the photo.

We can’t even do the jersey number count down to the start of the season without screwing it up. I will believe it when I see it…

What AFCAT describes is pretty much exactly how they use the big video board during basketball games so I think they can figure it out.

Coaches and athletes are there almost all summer. I believe they have a card swipe system where they can access the building when they want/need to.

Board is not even set up yet and already complaining about its use. Lots of positive things to observe - like it is one of the largest in all of college football. A complaint seems very premature.

Didn't the old score board have "MARTEL FIELD" on the back side. I am assuming it is still Martel Field and it will say so somewhere.

‘Thayer Family,’ was mounted on the top of the previous scoreboard. I believe their donation made that scoreboard possible.

According to the published plans, it is supposed to be completely enclosed.

I kind of wonder if all that paneling will be custom and that's why they're still waiting on it. Guessing they could just enclose it with sheet metal and then paint it (or apply signage), or they could just get it painted/decorated somewhere else and then install it. It's a big scoreboard from the stadium side, but from outside the stadium it's just a big billboard.

It is really important to enclose the back of the scoreboard to keep the sound from radiating North and upsetting little Karen.

Just a big billboard and a money maker. Great advertising space on the sides and the back can have both ads and/or other stuff. Heck, they even sell ad space on the pilings.
