never saw it posted, what was the official tackle stats for robbie?
LOL! Not sure how many tackles he got credited for, but what I can tell you is that he kept his winless streak in Bobcat Stadium alive...
I believe he was given an assist on every tackle.
There was a student on Saturday who had a sign “Robby Hauck has 37 tackles in this game!” 😂
I think the poster Rfischer posted a picture of himself with a sign like that.

Yup, and he’s not a student. He’s actually a professor at MSU and a huge football fan.

Giving up 5 yards to a scrambling QB isn’t a big deal. It’s not like they’ll do it the whole way down the field.

Defense gave up 3.8 ypp when the starters were in. Some of you are complaining to complain.
Pot meet Kettle.

God forbid there's a civil discussion about line formations on a fan forum.
I don’t think I said anything that wasn’t civil, I just disagree with you. Unfortunately, offenses are going to get yards. While the wide splits look funny, most of the time the line is staying gap sound. That’s what matters.
Indeed, but when you end with complaining about people complaining. When people are just saying huh, I'm not a fan of wide splits and here's why, I don't see that as complaining. This is actually one of the better threads on the site, nobody is trashing players or coaches... I mean ******, what do you want from a fan board?
Ever so slightly more drama.
Why? Football discussion isn't enough for you so you want people flying off the rails? I mean there's already plenty of threads like that.
Oh for Pete’s sake.

Complaining about the wide sets at the moment is like complaining about how we run the ball. Sure, it’s wildly effective, but I just don’t like the aesthetic! I tried to make a little joke so we could bypass this, but I guess you insist.

Do you even know why they do it? The philosophy behind? Or do you just assume that because they line up wider than normal that it means they lose gap integrity? Has the defense been successfully this year or not?

Look, I don’t care if it’s the way I’d do things or not. It’s working. Why complain about something that’s working?!

I don't like the look of our RBs being tackled. I just wish they would stop getting tackled.

Who the ****** is complaining besides you? Maybe if we can have discussions with each other maybe us idiots can learn something new from you all knowing and all seeing assholes. Just because I don't like wide splits on obvious running downs and short yard situations, doesn't I don't like to see them at all. Where have I called out this defense for being bad? I've actually said it one of the best D's I've ever seen in Bobcat unis. You're just a prick being a prick that deserves a good pop in the mouth.

So if these guys are posting and it's working as a good discussion but it's not the way you'd post why complain about something that's working?

I'd certainly encourage you to add to the discussion more by explaining some of the nuances and workings of the wide split as you understand it. That could be a win-win for you and everyone else on the board.

I'm curious why the Cats didn't put a spy on the QB on some of those downs, or was there a spy and I just didn't recognize it?

I feel like when Danny U came into the game, the quarterback became less of a threat. He was still a threat because he's a very good player, but he never broke a really long one after halftime if I recall. PSU's got some dudes. I give them lots of credit.

Good observation. He was 10-35-(-27) in second half 10 rushes, gained 35, lost 27 (sacks). Net 8 yards. I think he was a net 75 in first half.

Yes I was impressed with the QB and RB and 0 on the defensive side. They played aggressively and I liked some of the things they were doing! They will get their wins!

I heard a comment in some post-game analysis that Chacere "gave the Cats all they could handle" in this game. That made me scratch my head a little bit.

I realize he got loose a couple times on the ground, but otherwise this was a nightmare day for him. He was sacked 5 times. He fumbled twice. He threw 2 interceptions. He was at 4.2 YPA. He only led one legitimate scoring drive before garbage time.

I see the talent that everyone else sees, but I did not understand at all the notion that he gave MSU a really hard time. They dominated him.

He hasn’t stood out, statistically, all year. He had 392 passing and 192 rushing coming into the game. He is good and athletic. His TD runs were very good. Some good, some bad. He gave MSU some good, and needed, game experience as did Gronowski. Players like that will make the defense better.

In post game, Grebe said we shut down run and PSU abandoned game plan. I agree with that and QB escaped afew times until we adjusted.
