Attendance
The crowd was awesome again yesterday! What a great environment! Can’t wait for the new board next year to add to the atmosphere. I believe we currently have the longest home winning streak in the country at 23 straight! And we were over 22,000 again yesterday. We had 22,017 which is the second largest crowd in Bobcat Stadium history - second only to Cat Griz last year at 22,047.
This year, through 3 games, Bobcat Stadium has hosted the 2nd, 3rd and 7th largest crowds in stadium history. We should blow away any season attendance record this year.

Re: Attendance
Where does a re-build of the eastside bleachers fit in the hierarchy of improvements? I know it's about money and we need some big donations for a project like that to get done, but this needs to be addressed for a multitude of reasons and not just seating capacity.
Safety, fan comfort, & adding additional sky boxes (more fundraising), just to name a few.
The SRO area has been full or nearly full for several recent games. The money from the tickets sold for that area should be earmarked to a fund for a future seating additions & improvements, just to get that program jump-started. Just my thoughts.

Re: Attendance
Unfortunately, an East grandstand rebuild, as envisioned in the master plan, would actually decrease seating capacity. Obviously, the master plan really isn’t much of a plan and could change and add Sky boxes and more rows of seating, but that increases the costs too. As a season ticket holder on the East side, I’d love to see a more safe seating area than we have now. As far as I can tell, the East grandstand is next on the list, after the indoor facility is built. I’d be surprised if we see any movement in the next five years though. I know the athletic department would love to build a glorious new seating section on the East side and end zone but that big money donor or willingness to go into bond debt just doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now. As for putting standing room seating money into a savings account, that probably isn’t going to happen when they have bills to pay now.cat-o-nine wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:36 pmWhere does a re-build of the eastside bleachers fit in the hierarchy of improvements? I thought the crowd was a bit quiet. Especially in 116. I was honestly shocked at the lack of enthusiasm and engagement.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 10:59 amThe crowd was awesome again yesterday! What a great environment! Typical homecoming crowd. I was in 124. People sat on their hands all game. Playoffs bring the rabid fans out.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 6:12 pmI thought the crowd was a bit quiet. We sit in section 110. The seats behind us seem to rotate with different fans. They were getting irritated because we stand most of the game in section 110.
The energy a few times was a little low.

To tie into the Sonny Holland zone at the same pitch and height you give up 2200 seats. Gonna have to make those up somewhere. All it takes is money.

Re: Attendance
I know we are kind of highjacking this thread, but the 20 year Master Plan is coming along pretty well six years in.
The original plan certainly isn't going to happen as originally envisioned but initial plans rarely do.
The BAC was, more or less, on target and a huge addition.
The new indoor football facility isn't going to be anywhere near what was planned but it still will be a game changer for the football program.
I think we can safely say that the three outdoor practice fields are a long way from happening, if they are going to be built at all.
The Bobcat Promenade isn't going to happen unless a new indoor track facility is built.
The new study center and locker rooms in the Brick look great.
The improvements inside the Brick for the fans doesn't look like it will happen for a while.
The stadium improvements for the fans are still a mixed bag with a new scoreboard being a great addition and painting the East Grandstands, but we are no where near seeing seating and other improvements.
I'd give Leon and his staff an A+ for six years of work though. I can't wait to see what happens in the next 14.

Re: Attendance
Thanks, AFCAT. Looks like we need to keep buying those lottery tickets. But seriously, we are pretty fortunate to have what we have and to enjoy a great product on gameday and a great football team. I am really excited to get the new scoreboard after seeing what Weber has at their stadium. Ours will be a lot bigger, of course, but the video resolution was outstanding. Has it been confirmed if we also get a new sound system along with it? That is a much-needed upgrade.

Re: Attendance
My favorite shot in the "House we Built" video they show before every game has always been Denarius running in front of the old south end zone seating, which should remind us all of how far we've come even though we're all impatient for more improvements to the stadium. What would demand for tickets be like right now without the 5000+ extra seats the end zone expansion added?

Question. Does anyone know what the capacity of the Standing Room Only area? Standing Room Only was sold out for Homecoming and I assume it was sold out for the Record Cat griz. In Cat griz where did the 30 more people stand, sit, lay, hover? Just one of those things that make me go hmmmmm.

Re: Attendance
I could be wrong but I believe attendance (at least regular season) counts everyone in the stadium. Very possible that some additional sideline passes given out for a game like Cat/Griz. Likely some additional VIP's up in things like the President's or AD's box. Don't think it would be tough to add an extra 30 folks scattered around in various functions like that.St George wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 8:22 amQuestion. Re: Attendance
I agree the large crowd seemed quiet at times compared to games in the past, but when I watched the replay and then listened to the radio broadcast, the crowd was louder than I expected it to be. Nowhere close to Cat/gris or a playoff game, but that is a given. That it was Homecoming (more of the older, quieter fans who don’t attend every game in attendance?) and the beautiful day may have also had people reduce their volume. I know in colder weather I’m louder and stomping my feet harder trying to keep warm. Regardless, it was awesome to see that large of a crowd, the band alums back in force, and Robby H only getting one tackle for showing up.

I've also wondered if there is such a thing as "capacity" for SRO. Do we actually have a firm limit on how many tickets we can sell or does the school just decide to cut tickets off at a certain point. I've been to a number of sold out games and the stadium is always at a different level of "full", even taking no-shows into account.kmax wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 8:29 amI could be wrong but I believe attendance (at least regular season) counts everyone in the stadium. Yes I have been told that there is a limit on the number of SRO that they will sell. Not sure how they have arrived at the number but it is a specific set number.coloradocat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 9:56 amI've also wondered if there is such a thing as "capacity" for SRO. Re: Attendance
The biggest problem with SRO is those folks wonder around the stadium looking for empty seats. During the Stetson game, a couple deputies had to "remove" 4 people from seats just behind ours that were occupied by SROs. I've heard of several instances similar to this where season ticket holders are fighting for the seats they bought because SRO squatters are occupying. Win a Natty and the money will follow.....we desperately need to increase capacity.
