MSU has shut out Weber in Ogden exactly two other times. Once in 1976, the other time was 1984.

When we shut out Weber 48-0 in 1984, that was the first win of a 10 game winning streak to close the season, after starting out 2-2. The score should have been exactly the same this year, if not for the four missed kicks.

Another interesting parallel to the 1984 season is that the '84 team lost its second game on the road at EWU by a score of 21-16, which would have been the final score of the SDSU game had they not missed an extra point. If MSU wins 45-22 against Portland State this weekend like they did in '84 then the two seasons will start to get really eerily similar...

Their 1984 team would be a good answer to the question posed in another thread, regarding the last time they were this bad. I believe they went winless in conference that season. We struggled a bit against them though, trailing 24-12 at halftime, before Bradley, Bignell, and the defense came alive and outscored them 22-0 in the 2nd half for a 34-24 win. After beating Weber, we only played three more games against current BSC members, beating PSU 45-22, UM 34-24, and NAU 41-3.

Well…. Had they not taken a few knees the last
Minute and a half they probably would have scored in my opinion. But with that said I agree on his call to take few kneel downs. Nothing to prove and why risk injuries. But kind of eerie with what this thread is about.
