Lulay

Post by CARDIAC_CATS » Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:19 pm

Okay I was bored over the holiday and was watching a little more of the Cat/Griz game (what Cat wouldn't want to watch that over and over :) ). Anyway, there were 2-3 times in that game where they had a front camera angle on Lulay and I noticed that he actually spins the ball once in a while (point to point - 360 degree spin) and catches the ball before throwing it. Very slick/fast way to line up the laces I thought. In Lulays 4 years at MSU I HAD NEVER noticed that he did that? Anyone else ever notice this? Thought it was pretty cool little trick.

Yeah, I noticed that before. It struck me as something that goes hand in hand with tapping the football before throwing it.

Not on DVD, just on my Dish Network DVR (Tivo). I dont' have a DVD burner otherwise I would for sure make you one. Would be nice have one of those though :)

I think we need to designate one fan as official pirate technician, pool some money to buy a dvd burner, and have him/her responsible for getting us all the games. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the most you can fit onto a recordable DVD is about 2hrs... barely enough time for a game if you edited out halftime and commercials... That is the reason I decided to pass on one for now, and stick with my TiVo.

You can fit more onto a DVD (5-6 hours if you make it a SVCD or VCD). The problem is the more you try to cram onto it, the lower the quality of Audio and/or Video. SVCD and VCDs will play on most DVD players.

A program called TMPGEnc (Plus or Express) works very well for this. VirtualDub can be used too extract the audio from the file to a wav file (which is combined later in TMPGEnc when converting it to the format you want the vid to be in) incase you are having audio synch problems when just converting it using TMPGEnc (which happens occasionally when just converting the audio and video from the same file at the same time, and not extracting the audio to its own seperate file then combining when converting).

Er....before this post gets too long, I'll just give ya all a link I find very handy, which has guides, tools, hardware reviews and forums for converting from and to just about any format :)

I have a Panasonic DVD player/recorder hooked up to my TV and can record from my DVR. I can record 2, 4, or 6 hours depending on what I need to record. I got it a couple of years ago and love it.

Alright, I split out the crap rehashing the same old things that Swilly started to a smack talk post. Continue there if you must, but remember....

Good job kmax! I try to stay on top, but a couple of the 'bottom' feeders won't give up.

Swilly, I sent you a message earlier this week asking you to keep the threads on topic and not add your Griz smack to every thread. Now KMax has warned you. Keep the smack in the right place!!
