Yeah, it was Scotta Morton who keeps scoring more and more. Bozeman players have really done well for the Bobcats over the years. Think of some of these names: Leachman, Marudas, Burrows, Dissly, Durham (yeah, I bet that's going to be an argument) and Morton. I'm glad to say I gradutated from high school with Scotta and Nick. I think Nick will do just fine starting now.
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.

This is not a criticism of Nick; just a comment and questions.
Great game last night; I think most of us believe Nick is capable of playing at or near that level more often than not.
The questions are: Why did we play 14 games before Nick woke up? If last night is an indication that he finally had "his motor running", then are we to assume that he didn't give a rip during the non-conference schedule? If so, why not?
Or: Was last night just an aberration? Was it something we'll see once or twice more this season, but watch him sleep-walk through most games as we've already seen?
In other words: WHAT THE HECK IS UP WITH THIS KID?

Nick will be just fine. I've heard this same stuff from Griz fans about Criswell and that was unfounded as well.El_Gato wrote:This is not a criticism of Nick; just a comment and questions.

Great game by the Cats Saturday, JaRon and Moss were fantastic, but Dissly went right back into the closet again. He played just sad on Saturday, and I think Thursdays game was an abberation of Nick.Ponycat wrote:From the games I saw and listened to I think it had a lot to do with our guard play.El_Gato wrote:Pony, that doesn't answer my question(s); if Nick "will be just fine", then where the heck has he been?
Our guard play was top notch on Saturday against ISU, what is the excuse for Nick then? When Casey Durham outrebounds Nick, that is just plain sad.
Start Edmonds, bring Nick off the bench, because Nicks attitude/desire and numbers reflect those of a 6th or 7th man at best.

Cat Pride:
He sat out some of the game on the end of the bench, being looked at by the trainer. It looked as if he had some kind of leg injury. That may have hampered his play, but he still did ok, scoring 6, grabbing 3 rebounds, 4 assists and no turnovers. Ill take that over his 14 minute 0-fer against SDSU....

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

He did OK for a kid coming off the bench logging 20 minutes or less. But for a starter, and Diss played 30 minutes Saturday, his play was weak at best. The only kid to play more minutes than Nick was Moss (31). So if Nick had a leg injury, it certainly didnt hamper his playing time.grizzh8r wrote:Cat Pride:

6 points and 3 boards is not good enough, not good enough at all. I'm sorry, but Nick is a total disappointment and does not deserve a starting position on this team... he should be coming off the bench until he proves otherwise.

Its stupid to say nick should'nt start. His prescence alone is more than the alternatives we have. I agree that he might not be playing to his potential some of the time, but give me a break, its not like we have an all conference player sitting on the bench waiting to take his spot.
And anyone who thinks that Casey plays because his dad is the coach is just an idiot. If anything, Casey has to work harder for playing time than everyone else because he is the coaches kid.
