Whitney Lewis would never ever ever ever ever transfer to 1-AA. This kid is a legitamate pro prospect. Lewis was the highest rated skills position player coming out of high school. You have to remember that USC is the best team in the nation and they have recievers that are more experienced. I gurantee he is a starter on next years team.

My response is so what, lets see who and then why they're transferring. This last season Tramaine did OK, not great, and tell me what Jevon did that was so special that someone that we already had here couldn't have done. Sure he can run fast and jump high but it takes more than speed to run good routes, downfield block and catch footballs. I sure hope Krames isn't out there making promises to these "Pac 10" guys that they can't back up.

If he is a "legitimate pro prospect" then he will get noticed at any level. Not to say that he would transfer to MSU but it is silly to say that he would not transfer to I-AA just because he is a pro prospect. What school did Jerry Rice go to? He seemed to have an ok NFL career even though he did'nt play for a I-A school.

Lewis was one of the most highly recruited receivers in the nation 2 years ago.
According to USC fans, they claim he skips the gym more often these days in lieu of a trip to one of the local fast food joints.
Academics have always been an issue though, according to USC fans, he is eligible now.
Outside of Chambers, I can't think of any other Pac 10 receivers who are transferring at the moment. I highly doubt Whitney Lewis will be leaving USC anytime soon.

Yes, he should be able to crack MSU's starting lineup.

Here are a couple of tidbits that I found on Toliver that came out before his senior season....
Another player who showed up on every coach’s card was Long Beach (Calif.) Cabrillo's Deon Toliver. Toliver, 6-2.5, 169 pounds, has very good size and he knows how to use it. He was easily able to outmuscle or out jump opposing defensive backs. Toliver clocked a 4.66 in thee 40 but plays faster than that on the field and was able to get separation on deep balls from opposing corners who timed better than he did. Florida, UCLA and Washington are Toliver's current top three.
and
Sleeper wide receiver Deon Toliver (6-3, 175, 4.6) from Long Beach (Calif.) Cabrillo will be one to watch this fall. Toliver was the third wide receiver playing behind two seniors in 2003. He is now on many Pac-10 recruiting lists after strong showings at camps this spring.
The scouting report on Toliver he’s a very smart wide receiver who finds the open spots on the defense when running routes. He is also a hard worker who diligently working on his already fine routes.
Another thing that scouts like about Toliver is he has the size and the quickness that D-I schools covet in a modern wide receiver prospect.
As the third wide receiver on the team, Toliver caught nine passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 13.4 yards per catch.
Toliver benches 225 and recorded a 28-inch vertical at the NIKE Camp held in San Diego. He recorded a 30-inch vertical at the Fresno State skills camp.
The colleges have started to take notice. Some of the schools are Arizona, UCLA, USC, Washington, Fresno State and UTEP.
Toliver also camped at USC and enjoyed himself at the camp. “I think I did well,” Toliver said. “It was a good camp.”
If Toliver lives up to his potential in 2004 you will see his stock soar and he will see his status change from sleeper to prospect.
