Who will Start @ QB
I am not a football expert but I did stay @ a Holiday Inn. Seriuosly, though, I liked what I saw of Carpenter last year and was pretty comfortable with the prospect of coming into next year with he and Coppack. Signing Rolovich is definately a great addition, but I still have a wait and see, feeling about him. I have not ruled out Carpenter starting next year despite Rolovich signing.

I'll agree with you mslacat and say that I think Carpenter will be the starter. I like what I've seen out of him and he has had a damn good person to learn from the last three years! I'll say it now and I'll stand by it, Carpenter will be the starter!

Kramer made it clear that the job is Carpenter's to lose and I couldn't agree more. I think he will most definitely be the starter at Colorado but I predict a lot of reps for Rolovich early on as well. I don't like the alternating QB strategy but I can understand wanting to see each guy in game situations. I honestly think Cory will be fine - assuming we find someone for him to throw it to. That is a much bigger problem IMO.

I agree with Wycat. I watched Carpenter lasr spring and fall in practice as well as schrimage. I feel he is the man. Some posters feel he is not able to scramble like Lulay, but from what I saw he can find the holes and get the extra yards when needed. However, I am sure we will see Rolovich as well in the early season. May the best man win, but my money is on Carpenter.

Carpenter definately has escapability that is for sure. He won't take a busted play 35-40 yards to the house like Lulay, but he can definately squirt out and run 10-15 yards for first downs no problem. That is what you need to keep the defense honest/move the chains. Couple that with a solid running game next year and I think it could be a very nice fit into the system. I'm all for competition in spring/fall camp though. May the QB that gives us the best chance to win be our starter.Robcat wrote:I agree with Wycat. I don't want to vote because I want every QB in the system to get a shot to compete for the job and the coaches will put the best guy on the field. I am very happy to have Carpenter and Rolo competing for the job with the two Freshman coming in to learn the system and be the future of Bobcat football. I think based on the fact that Rolo and Carpenter will be the only two here for Spring one of them will be the starter. I would love to see Carpenter as the guy since he has stuck with the program, but if Rolo is better then he should be the guy.
Either way I am VERY EXCITED about our depth at QB heading into next year. Now we just need some guys to step up and catch the ball and we will have another good season. Anyone hear how our prospective LB recruits are? I would love to get another Mac in place!

FINE! My gut says Carpenter starts but at somepoint in the season Rolo takes over. No idea why, but that is what my gut says.
