Senior Red Devil Mike Person is the first of the Dawson team to make a commitment to college football. The offensive lineman made a verbal commitment with the Montana State University-Bozeman football program to join the Bobcat team in the fall of 2006.

Person also received offers from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., and Montana Tech in Butte.

“I just like the way that they treated me,” Person said. He explained that they handled things with the most respect.

Person, who will be pursuing a degree in History Education, will red shirt on the offensive line his first year in Bozeman.

Person is the son of longtime Red Devil football coach and Dawson County High School history educator Jim Person and his wife, Shelly.

The last Red Devil to join the Bobcats was 1997 DCHS graduate Nick Morosko.

Person and fellow teammate Jess Johnson were selected to Class A All-State teams as well. Person was named to the tackle team and Johnson was selected as a free safety.

The two young men were honored as the Red Devil team’s most valuable players this year.

“They both had good years, and are looking forward to playing football in college,” Red Devil football coach Jim Person said.

“They both did a great job for us this year,” he said.

this is good news. Glendive puts out some great football players. While I know the importance of "skill" position players, in my book it's the offensive line that dictates the outcome.
