I am very happy that he ended up at Oregan state because its a better program, but I was VERY pissed off when the cats didn't sign him. Durham had a chance to not only sign an absolute basketball stud, but he had a chance to sign an absolute basketball stud from MISSOULA!!!! Jack would have absolutely blown people away at Bozeman, he would have been such an amazing addition to the Bobcats. I've always hated durham, the fact that he didn't sign jack made me hate him even more, and hopefully after durham blows another season will a talented cat team this year he will be fired!!!!!!! We have had soooooooo many talented basketball teams come through bozeman that Durham does nothing with, why has he not been fired yet?!? it drives me crazy

The devil made me do it the first time... the second time I done it on my own.

I agree that Durham should have offered McGillis a scholly. I for one, think we need more in-state bball players on this team. I really liked Jack from when I saw him play and I wish him the best of luck.

Where exactly do you think he would play? For whom? Do you think he would have redshirted this year? How much time do you think he would be getting? Who would he play in front of? Where would he fit in on this year's team?

why is everyone so quick to jump on casey? if you ask anyone in-the-know about cats b-ball, players, parents, coaches, and boosters, i think you will find that mick was more than fair handling his son and his playing time. he got important minutes last year because we needed him. and he played very well at times. this year, because of the good play of holmes especially, his minutes have went down. right now, the entire team has been a dissapointment. casey is playing no better or worse than anyone else right now. so if mcgillis is playing over durham right now, he's also playing over jefferson, miller, holmes, and dissly too because none are playing up to their potential.

Even if McGillis didn't get a lot of playing time this year with the cats (which I think he would have), he still would have been really good for the years to come. Personally I dont even see where there is an argument here, if he is good enough to get a full ride to OSU then he is definitely good enough to play for the cats! I don't know which coach is dumber- durham or krysto? MSU was jacks #1 choice, and durham could have got him, yada yada yada... But Krystowiak (however you spell that) didn't offer jack a scholly and he's a missoula boy! I mean come on you idiot, even if jack didn't produce for the griz (which would have been a small chance) jack would have brought in twice the attendance that they will get this year. So once again, I don't know who f'd up worse, Durham or Krystowiak?

Jack plays the 2-3 spot, which I realize we our stacked at this year, but even if he didn't get significant minutes this year he would still be here for 4 years, I don't know if he would have redshirted or not. When comparing him to who he would have been competing against... Obviously biggest competition would have been dissly, jack is just as athletic as dissly, dissly is a little bigger, jack is a little taller, I think jack has a better inside game and jumper/three point shot. Don't get me wrong though, I'm a huge dissly fan. I dont think he would have started this year, but he would have been great off the bench, and in my opinion would have had a shot at Big Sky frosh of the year. Anyway, this saturday OSU is on Fox Sports Northwest, i think they play UNLV, good chance to watch him play if anyones curious, I think he is averaging somewhere around 10 minutes a game.

oh im with ya missoula. we totally dropped the ball with mcgillis. he would start for our squad this year. my point was, as crappy as the cats have looked this season, and tonite against ncu, i was defending casey. he has had his struggles like everyone else. the cats dont look good right now. but we got a win(ugly) and they'll build on that. if durr plays half as good as he did tonight it will be a great improvement, and a must needed boost for this team.

I don't think the Griz totally dropped the ball on McGillis. They got some good recruits, and did, apparently, tell him he would have one waiting for him his second year.
Who would he be infront of for the Griz this year? Even though this is the cat forum. And Who's scholarship would he have this or next year?
Forgive my ignorance if these are obvious quesitons.

If there was room for McGillis on either the Griz or Cats, they would have signed him.....these two coaches are not stupid, they are quality evaluators of talent............he would have redshirted and saw limited time as a freshman on both UM and MSU ... at OSU he evidently fits into plans right now.....better for him, as I have mentioned.

Found the OSU vs UNLV game on Fox Sports Northwest today at 3PM. It's channel 651 on DirectTV if anyone is interested.
