Did Corey Davis officially sign? I read conflicting reports but never heard the outcome.

Re: Basketball Recruiting
According to Oregonpreps.com Corey Mailed to MSU his letter of intent on the very last day of the Fall signing period. They have an interview with davis and he is quoted as saying so. That was last week and most likely after Durham and the Cats left for Alaska. I would guess that Durham did not get it until he got back from Alaska, and that he would not want to comment until he went over it with a fine tooth comb. There are NCAA penalties if a coach comments / discusses a player if they have not sign a valid LOI. I wll let you know if I hear anything.Cat in SoDak wrote:Did Corey Davis officially sign? Quote from the chronicle today:
"The struggles in Alaska were punctunated by some good news.
The coaching staff received letters of intent from Cory Davis, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Salem, Ore., and Anthony Jones, a lanky 6-6 power forward from Seminole (Okla.) Junior College.
They join 6-7 Travis Derochowski of Western Mennonite School in Salem in MSU's fall recruiting class.
Of particular relief is Davis, a highly touted point who began thinking of the grandeur of the Pacific-10 Conference and considered waiting until spring to decide his future.
In the end, Davis took the bird-in-hand route and grabbed the most enticing Division I scholarship available to him.
Davis has started four years at West Salem.
“He was really thrown to the wolves early in his career,” Durham said. “He's got some poise and some maturity and toughness about him.”
Jones is the athletic power forward Durham likes to have in the program to complement a bulkier Marvin Moss-type. He helped Seminole to the Oklahoma state title and berth in the national junior college tournament.
“He's a good, tough kid who can jump over people,” Durham said. “His best basketball is ahead of him.”
Meanwhile, the 16th-year coach hopes he can say the same about his current group.
“We started really slow last year, too,” Durham said. “We'll see. I'm kind of excited to see where we're at now that we're back and digested the whole thing.
“Hopefully, we're ready to come together.”
