MSU linebacker, Cooper, inked by 49ers
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers signed former Montana State linebacker Roger Cooper to their practice squad on Wednesday.
Cooper, the Big Sky Conference’s co-defensive player of the year last season, was a three-time all-conference selection while playing for the Bobcats. He signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in April, but was cut in August during training camp.
Cooper should have a good chance to impress the 49ers, whose linebacker corps has been hurt by injuries to Jeff Ulbrich and Saleem Rasheed. San Francisco also traded Jamie Winborn to Jacksonville three weeks ago.

It's about time. Coop deserves to be on an NFL team because he's a great player and he works hard at it. Way to go.

GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.

Nice for Cooper. I hope he shows what I-AA has to offer the NFL.

Great! First Joey goes to the Packers so I have to root for them, now I have to like the Niners? Just kidding, I hope Coop gets a shot at some playing time.
