From ISU chat
This is one of the dumbest posts ever. He didn't even think of taking into account our scheduals. One cat gave a good reponse but they could use some others over there to share a little reality with them.Well, it's time for Coach to shake things up just a bit with a prediction.
Not just a prediction, but a look at the facts.
My favorite part of the weekly release is the tale of the tape. The rest is sunshine blown up certain nether regions, except for the hard stats.
Fact 1: ISU is generating 70 more yards of total offense. Rank in 1-AA ISU 39 - MSU 70
Fact 2: ISU is 73 yards per game better on the ground at 187.5 per game. Rank: ISu 33 - MSU 86
Fact 3: ISU lags MSU in passing by 3 yards at 212.5 per game. Rank ISU 48 - MSU 43
Fact 4: ISU is ranked 4th in rushing TD's, MSU 81st
Fact 5: ISu is ranked 74th in passing TD's, MSU 23rd.
Fact 6: ISU is only giving up 60 yards rushing... 6th ranked, MSU 180 and 83rd.
Fact 7: Passing TD's given up, ISU is 71st, MSU 2nd - MSU's only single digit rank.
Fact 8: ISU is 7th in Fumbles lost, 5th in sacks, and 1st in 4th down conversion percentages.
Given ISU has 5 single digit rankings in 1-AA, it is somewhat amazing how little credit is given to this team.
I remind folks that Kentucky, the loss game, should have been a clear win. You don't whip a team 186 to 15 yds of total offense at the half and lose. Kentucky had a lot of serious players. They just cannot put it together to play in their conference this year.
So, given the solid results the statistics reflect, absent a meltdown, ISU wins this game.
To win, MSU must stop the run game, which they will give up more than 200 yards, and will not likely see triple digits themselves.
They will give up more than 200 yards in passing. Turnovers will kill them. Being 89th in turnovers is not a good thing at all. 116 is the bottom of the barrel. 98th in fumbles? I see the ball on the carpet...
I'll stop there, but the bottom line is this game is going to be like wrestling a Boa for MSU. This is not going to be pretty, and it is going to be in their own house. MSU's QB is going down 3 or 4 times minimum. The stats say so.
The only thing that keeps this from being set in stone is the human factor, but I would not count on it. By the way, JB loves real grass.
You heard it first here, without emotion or lack of thought on this. As I have said before, if I am lying, stop me and say so! Don't think so. I try to be accurate.

I tried to make him see the light, in the fact that ISUs opponents are like 3-13 and ours our 13-2.

That would be the ideal matchup. It guarantees no injuries for either team.RyeCat wrote:My point was that from the stats posted by the Bengal fan, the Cats don't even have a chance (sarcastically rolling my eyes) and shouldn't even bother showing up on Saturday.
