EG, you've been drinking the egriz koolaid again, haven't you?!?!??
Get real, dude.
I believe this arse whipping behind the CPSLO wood shed has been a good wake up call for the Cats. I look for them to play to win against NDSU. My challenge goes to the Offensive linemen. Show us you're worthy to wear the Bobcat uniform!!!

No question NDSU will need too bring the best to Bozeman to beat the Cats. I am sure the Cats will be looking for a win after the CAl Poly trouble.....

If this Cat team can't stop the option, then I think the coaches carry the most blame. Not because the coaches didn't prepare the defense, but because the players are taking it upon themselves to disregard their defensive responsibility. Defending the option is all about doing your responsibility. You can't help somebody with their responsibility. If you leave ignore your responsibility, then the option will kill you. That butt-whipping was a classic sign of a mental breakdown - on both sides of the ball.
To not be able to defend the option is just plain pathetic with athletes on that defense. That means that the players lack discipline. Discipline is instilled by the coach(es). The team better realize this by next Saturday, or the Bison will put up 50.
Also - if I'm Fields, I schedule SLO every year.
Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

Lulay had no time and when he did he had nothing downfield. OLine played awful, running game was OK, receivers didn't have a chance to play well, and Lulay played bad. Defense played ok for awhile then cracked and played bad. Coverage was bad, we got no pressure on their QB (same as SFA), and their running game took over.
The only positive I can think of tonight is that Carpenter was 2-2 for like 50 some yards.
We better rebound from this or NDSU is going to throttle us.
Interesting.
1) Carpenter didn't pass the ball so he wasn't 2 for 2 - he was 0 for 0?. He did have one fumble that was lost however. So he fit right in with the rest of the team.
2) OL did horrible, but the running game was OK (seems like they are a little involved in running the ball). But MSU only ran the ball about 3 times in the second half, once on first down and twice on 3rd and short?? They ran the ball the majority of the time in the first half and passed the 2nd half ending up 50/50 for the game.
Just some thoughts

I know Carpenter completed at least one pass to Roosevelt for about 20 yards

Yeah, I know I saw Carpenter in there and swear it was him that completed the pass to Roosevelt. The Chronicle even had a short note about Roosevelt catching his first pass since the injury and said it was from Carpenter, however he doesn't show up in any of the box scores as credited for any passing attempts at all. What's the deal, did somebody screw up the official stats?

Carpenter did complete one pass on that last drive -- right before he fumbled to end the game. That's about the only relevant piece of info I can provide from being there in person. His other pass attempt was almost intercepted.

Tribune showed Carpenter as 2-3. Also, it is amazing how the Cats went from the best team ever on campus and so dominating no one could touch us to a horrible team that needs to make drastic changes in one day. Come on posters, it was one game against a good opponent. Cal Poly may have a day like that also. Lets wait a little longer in the season to see where we are at either direction.

Maybe it wasn't just the game. Maybe there were other things that just weren't going "right"? Hell, maybe they got in late on Friday or luggage was lost. I am not trying to defend the whole weekend, but sometimes if things get out of sync in the things that don't seem so important to all of us, it could be just the beginning of things not working out in the end for them. Nonetheless, they all need our undying support this weekend. We need to stop this woulda, coulda, shoulda attitude. They need to know that we are going to be there on Saturday, blue in all, and give those Bison hell!

Sorry my mistake. I was reviewing the Cal Poly Press clipping (play by play) on their web site and it listed Lulay for all the passes.
