The addition of Coach Jimmy Lake

As kudos are being passed around for Saturday's impressive win (and there are lots of them to pass out), I wanted to make sure that avid Bobcat fans recognize the contribution of coach Jimmy Lake in the secondary. We are playing with great confidence and execution. It is obvious that Coach Lake has made a great difference in the secondary. Several players alluded to that in conversations after the game. Thay can feel the difference. That was a great hire for the Bobcat program!

With that said, I also want to point out an outstanding game plan by Coach K on defense and the solid effort of our offense to keep drives alive with big plays. There is a lot to be excited about. We do have a very TOUGH preseason schedule. We are up to it, though. Lets go kick some Mustangs this weekend!

I agree Catdad! I would venture to say that the technique that I saw from our DB's was the best it has been in a long time... even when we had Joey back there. It was great to see our DB's stick with the reciever, then actually look back for the ball to make a play. Hunter looked like Deion Sanders out there, and I think we were all blown away with how awesome Austin and Fuller looked.

Cheers to Coach Lake for coming in and making a marked difference! I had the chance to meet and talk with him for a short while after the game, and I couldn't be happier to have him instructing our young, talented secondary.

By the way CatDad, my gal and I though it was great to get to sit with you and the Ms. at the game (for old times sake!). See you in Cheyney, although I really think you should make it down for homecoming! Regardless, we'll save your seats for you all year long.

We enjoyed being near you, too. Keep our seats warm, but it will be awhile before we are back (Cat/Griz is the plan). I will see you at Weber State if you are there. Coach Lake is a class act and I am glad you got to meet him! We will see you in Cheney (at least, I hope we do!) Thanks for all your hospitality!

Kory tells me that he loves his new coach and he's learning a lot. He didn't feel that way last year. He also thinks the zone defense is much easier to play since you don't have to cover the whole field, and it's what he was used to as he played zone defense in high school. Kudos to Coach Lake! Looking forward to meeting him. Kory Austin's mom.

Kory is in my Sociology class and although I haven't spoken with him yet, I have been very impressed with his play on the field and I look forward to meeting him soon. I wish him, you and the rest of your family the best of luck.

Bobcatmom, welcome to the board. To quote a post, just go to the post you want to reply to/quote and in the upper right corner of that post is a button that says "quote". Click that and it will take you to the response page with the response set up to quote that post.
