A small glimmer in all of the negativity. I saw on the news last night that it seemed Peter Fields was really frustrated with these events because of how hard they have worked and all the time they have devoted this fall to education of student athletes in how to stay out of trouble like this. This extra effort in education was a direct result of the events of this summer. The bright spot as I see it is that whatever happened with these guys happened this summer. This isn't another incident in the line of trouble at MSU. It is just more information on a past incident which I recall hearing that more names would come out upon further investigation. Has it been so long that we all forgot this? I believe we all new that the incident this past summer could get much worse before it got better. No news is not always good news.
Just my take on it.

Exactly.
All this stuff happened in June, right? So the Wright kid was killed on June 23. I have to believe these two things are linked. Didn't Wright have a computer with a bunch of clients listed on it? My point is if that's the case, what does Fields have to be frustrated about. He put in his measures after all this actually occured.
This stuff isn't a new, separate case. It's the contiunation of one very large case, that probably still has seen its last chapter. What happened, has already happened. Maybe we should treat it this way, instead of acting like, "Oh, here we go again. When will it end?"
I think it has ended, but all the details (arrests) aren't out there yet.

Good posting - but Fields still has a lot of work to do - we need to make sure (if the police will let us know) that this is it! No more arrests...if that's the case we can get this behind us before recruiting really heats up in Jan!crazycat wrote:Exactly.

Fields has work to do in putting in strategies/safeguards that protect against this sort of thing, but there's only so much he can do. MSU should be doing what every college is doing, and then some. But Fields can't make other charges that haven't surfaced go away. We can only wait and wonder and the police will likely never come forward and give the "All Clear." They want to keep the crooks nervous, despite the fact that it keeps all of us nervous.CatsRback wrote:Good posting - but Fields still has a lot of work to do - we need to make sure (if the police will let us know) that this is it! I think Fields frustration comes from the fact that this event did happened in June and it has taken this long for the police to sort it all out. I feel that some are concerned that the Bozeman police because of the flack they took overthe summer on this case and it could be misconstrude that they waited until football season was over to make the arrest. I would like to think they waited because they wanted this time to make sure they had all their ducks in a row and not start throwing names out there like they did last June. JMO
